WATCH: Beirut Grain Silo Falls In Partial Collapse Nearly 2 Years After Port Explosion, Fears Whole Structure Could Fall

A section of the huge grain silos at Beirut’s port, shredded in the 2020 explosion in the Lebanese capital, collapsed on Sunday after a weeks-long fire triggered by grains that had fermented and ignited in the summer heat. It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured.

The 50-year-old silos, which once had a capacity of more than 100,000 tons and stand 48 meters (158ft) high, withstood the force of the explosion two years ago, shielding the western part of Beirut from the blast that killed more than 200 people, wounded more than 7,000 and badly damaged entire neighborhoods.

SHOCK VIDEO: Machete-Wielding Florida Man Shoots Man In The Face at Point-Blank Range

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla (BCSO) – Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit detectives arrested Luis Alberto Escolástico Canela for shooting another man in the face last month in Oakland Park.

At approximately 1:49 a.m., Monday, June 6, BSO district deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue responded to a report of a shooting near the 3800 block of North Andrews Avenue in Oakland Park. Paramedics located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and survived his injury.

BSO detectives located surveillance video that captured the crime. On camera two men are seen exchanging words outside of a store. Suddenly, the subject is seen taking a machete from his pants wielding it at the victim. The conversation continues as the subject approaches the victim. The subject then walks away.

Moments later, the subject returns, points a gun at the victim, walks straight towards him and gets close enough to shoot him in the face. The subject is seen fleeing in a four-door dark, colored Infiniti.

The video was shared with media and the public, and through investigative methods, the suspect was identified as Luis Alberto Escolástico Canela. An arrest warrant was issued.

On Thursday, July 28, Canela was arrested in North Lauderdale. He faces one charge of attempted murder in the first degree. BSO’s Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response (V.I.P.E.R.) team investigators assisted in the apprehension.

“You Can’t Hit Me!” – “Yes, I Can MF’er!” Beating of Armed Teen by Illinois Police Is Captured on Video

“You Can’t Hit Me!” – “Yes, I Can MF’er!” Beating of Armed Teen by Illinois Police Is Captured on Video

Oak Lawn, Illinois — On July 27th, 2022 an Oak Lawn Police Officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Southwest Highway and Austin Ave. As police searched the driver, police said 17-year-old Hadi Abuadaleh got out of the back seat and ran. Dashcam video from other officers shows them chasing the teenager around the 95th Street area. Another dashcam video then begins as Abouadale is already lying near 95th Street and McVicker. Two officers are seen pinning him to the ground, with one officer punching him in the legs and the other punching him several times in the head.

While difficult to see in the video, police said the teen had a bag around his body that he refused to release. Officers then Tazed the teen and handcuff him. At one point, the audio cuts off on the video, but police can be heard yelling “pressure point” as they attempted to get him to release the bag. Oak Garden police stated a .25 caliber gun was discovered inside his bag loaded with three rounds of ammunition. Police said Abuadal has been charged, but because he is a minor and in hospital, investigators have not yet been able to interview him.
