In the Horn of Africa every 48 seconds a child dies from the consequences of famine, Oxfam reports. The worst famine in decades, allegedly caused by drought-ravaged Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia, further stressed by the war in Ukraine… See this.

When a child dies from hunger it is particularly sad. Children are the most vulnerable category of humanity. Famine is not the result of a worldwide food shortage. But famine has to do with food hoarding for speculation, with a lack of well- and equalitarian food distribution system. There is no lack of food per se in the world. According to FAO, with current technologies we are able to produce sufficient food for 12 billion people.

The “post-covid” (really?) Ukraine-Russia war period, is generating a wanton food crisis – leading to a cruel, but well planned, hunger catastrophe. The first victims are usually the poverty-stricken populations, but this time its planned not to stop at the borders of “developed” countries in the Global North.

The cause is not just drought, it’s the consequence of poverty and mass unemployment triggered by the Covid-19 lockdown measures initiated Worldwide in March 2020, not to mention the string of bankruptcies affecting agriculture, food production and  distribution.

Is it part of the unspoken “depopulation agenda” under the auspices of the Great Reset, of UN Agenda 2030, of Klaus Schwab’s 4th Industrial Revolution, all inter-changeable programs with the same objectives?

Even a drought of such severity is suspicious.

Weather Modification Technologies

Remember the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) developed in the 1990s, which was initiated in Alaska, as an ionospheric research program, jointly funded by the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Pentagon and US Secret Services.

HAARP, Gakona Alaska, 1990s

Earlier weather modification technologies were applied in the 1960s, during the US-war against Vietnam, when extreme Monsoons were “created” (through cloud seeding), so as to impede the transit of the communist Vietcong soldiers and mercenaries from North-Vietnams to the South, through the jungles of Vietnam.

Owning the Weather

Since the 1990s, HAARP has become highly sophisticated and is suspected (without firm evidence) of being responsible for several world-wide occurring extreme weather phenomena:

Weather-modification, according to the US Air Force document AF 2025 Final Report, ‘offers the war fighter a wide range of possible options to defeat or coerce an adversary’, capabilities, it says, extend to the triggering of floods, hurricanes, droughts and earthquakes:

‘Weather modification will become a part of domestic and international security and could be done unilaterally… It could have offensive and defensive applications and even be used for deterrence purposes. The ability to generate precipitation, fog and storms on earth or to modify space weather… and the production of artificial weather all are a part of an integrated set of [military] technologies.’

Creating famine in any way possible, through modified weather patterns, or wantonly deficient food distribution systems, or food retention by other politically influenced means, is a crime against humanity, a crime of biblical proportion, for which apparently, so far, nobody has been held accountable.

Western populations – predominantly Europe and the US – are being warned, repeatedly, that they will be hit by devastating food shortages, as well as a huge, unheard-of in the west, accompanying inflation. See this.

What we are witnessing is one of the most inhumane, cruel ways of killing people, by famine.

The rich will survive, they will also get their food. The poor and middle segments of society may suffer the most. Many will die.

WEF advisor, Yuval Noah Hariri, calls them “useless eaters”. Lack of food will create riots, for sure, and the riots itself – all planned, foreseen, counted with and funded by “philanthropic” oligarchs – create more havoc and death, interrupting the remaining food chains.

That’s not all. Food shortages will also affect the Middle East and North African countries that are already in conflict, some in war-like situations. They may cut off or reduce Middle-Eastern hydrocarbon production, with all the consequences of spiraling oil-related shortages. Refugees from these lands will migrate to Europe, where they hope to find a better life, food, and shelter. The refugee influx in Europe will exacerbate the food and everything-shortages by a multiple.

Groomed Proxy Politicians, Acting on Behalf of Powerful Financial Interests

But all of that is known and planned that way, by the very “leaders” (sic) of Europe and the west in general – many of them scholars of Klaus Schwab’s Academy for “Young Global Leaders” (YGL).

For a full list of such proxy politicians, who were taught to apply tyrannical measures on the very people who allegedly elected them, who pay for them, who still live under the illusion that their leaders serve them, want the best for their people, in whom they trust – see thisIn the words of Klaus Schwab:

I have to say then I mention names like Mrs Merkel, even Vladimir Putin and so on they all have been Young Global Leaders of The World Economic Forum. But what we are really proud of now with the young generation like Prime Minister Trudeau, President of Argentina and so on, is that we penetrate the cabinets… It is true in Argentina and it is true in France now… (Klaus Schwab)

Famine is the Name of Game

Famine will be the name of the game, accompanied by a collapsed western economy, joblessness, freezing cold winters, due to lack of heating oil / energy, homelessness. As the debt burden increases, so does dispossession of shelter.

The banks and oligarchs get richer – exactly the script of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and the useless eaters are driven into mass poverty.

The construct, the plan, the UN Agenda 2030, the Great Reset, are inter-changeable. They become increasingly visible – and people, who are not (yet) reacting, may be doomed.

Death by famine, follows death by vaccine, and embraces death by despair.

People have no clue of what’s going on behind the scenes – what really causes famine and why – it’s a wanton population reduction scheme, à la Bill Gates, the Rockefellers, Kissinger… and more.

These are just the most blatant perpetrators. Killing people, mostly children, the weakest link of society, is just about the worst crime that humanity can commit.

Mainstream media does not inform us. They are paid to keep silent, or worse, to trick us into believing it’s our fault either because we do not decry loud enough the Russian aggression on Ukraine, the timing of which is no coincidence.

The war in Ukraine also decimates harvests, and oil and gas production, which, in turn, reduces fertilizer production, and by extension, what is produced cannot be shipped, because of delivery disruptions, due to covid, bankruptcies, labor fallouts, because we didn’t vaxx enough, to keep the “social and industrial machinery oiled to function”, and so on. A perpetual spiral to misery.

The Pandemic Treaty, the QR Code. Towards Digital Tyranny

Hence, we are supposed to be inclined voluntarily to submit to the soon-to-come vaxx mandates; and that, before its possibly military enforced through the “coming” WHO-designed and managed worldwide “Pandemic Treaty”, whose flagship is the multi-purpose international vaxx certificate, via QR-coded electronic data collection and full and absolute surveillance, leading many scared and desperate victims of the 24/7 propaganda to the 4th, 5th, 6th and so on boosters, until death does us part from this wonderful world of the Great Reset.

Famine is already ongoing in Africa, India and parts of Latin America. Will the famine disaster hit the Western “Developed Countries”, later in the fall, as predicted by some analysts?

All has to do with the western insane, suicidal act of sanctioning Russia for her aggression on Ukraine. So, say many pundits, analysts and free-thinkers. Do they truly believe that the west, especially Europe, doesn’t know what they are doing by sanctioning Russia?

They know exactly that Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan together account for about 30 to 40 of the world’s food supply, mostly grains.

They know that much of the grain may not be produced, as a result of the war.

What is produced and supposed to be shipped to the world’s market places, may be stranded, due to lack of labor, transport, fuel, it’s a self-perpetuating spiral of disruptions and shortages, that will impact vital food supplies – and cause famine.

For self-protection and to guarantee least damage to her food supply, India, also an important wheat and grain producer, has just banned all wheat exports, mostly to keep local prices down and to secure as much food as possible for her local population – some 1.4 billion people. See this India prohibited all exports of wheat on Friday in an attempt to reduce local prices.

Also, no coincidence – fires destroy food manufacturing plants, storage and transport facilities throughout the western and mid-western Unites States. See the video below. A further planned contribution to food shortages.

The Bird Flu H5N1 Outbreak

A new kind of Bird Flu H5N1 – lab-made, indeed, is already making sure that for our, human protection tens of millions of poultry are already being euthanized.

Perhaps hundreds of millions more around the globe may follow the same fate. For your health protection, of course. Unfortunately, this health protection move will eliminate vital sources of protein, especially for the common people. But, so what, as Yuval Noah Harari would say – it may help neutralizing some of the “useless eaters”.

All this results in food shortages, leading to famine and misery. But no worries, Bill Gates and his artificial meat production scheme will soon come to rescue. We then may have an abundance of Monsanto produced GMO plant food and Bill Gates sponsored artificial meat production. Bon appetit!

Nothing is “bad-management” or unwise decision-making. Nothing is coincidence. No, it’s all been planned that way for years, decades. The ongoing phase, total destruction of the western economy, is only a stepping stone to the larger objectives, total control of the world economy shifted from the bottom and the middle to the top – massive population reduction, and the ringing in of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (FIR).

But they will not win.

Mind you FIR has little to do with “industrial”, and even less with “revolution”, but it has all to do with transforming the remaining world population into a herd of gnomes, computer and robot- manipulated slaves, or transhumans, as per Yuval Noah Hariri, Darwinist, author of “Sapiens” and “Homo Deus”.

Hariri is also the closest personal advisor of Klaus Schwab – WEF creator, eternal WEF CEO (acting on behalf powerful financial interests), and continued Mastermind of eradicating nation states’ sovereignties and creating an artificial world, a One World Order (OWO), under a One World Government (OWG), the most anti-nature and anti-social proposal imaginable.

This will never happen. The collective human mind is strong and in solidarity capable of over-coming all evil attempts to control us. We must abandon the illusion to have national governments serving the people. We must escape form this Cognitive Dissonance.

We must wake up and come to senses and to grips with reality. If we do, we are safe. We will be able to resist this soul- and heartless cult of dark and sick people, and we shall resist their criminal machinations.

People, compatriots of Mother Earth, wake up!

Open your eyes to what this  Elite Financial Cabal has in store for us.

They are at the beginning of their agenda – UN Agenda 2030 – The Great Reset – the 4th Industrial Revolution – different names for the same killing game.

We must take over the next eight years, acting in solidarity, converting this sinister economic and social agenda into broad grassroots process for humanity.

In the next eight years, we must put a term of what is tantamount to genocide, namely an all-controlling, totalitarian world governance – the digital tyranny – the transformation of humans to transhumans and mind-manipulation through an sophisticated brain control scheme that will give us a robotized smile since we own nothing but are happy.

We must stop it.

And we will.

We have the Human Power.

We are the Spirit of Light.

They are the darkness.

We aspire for Community, Peace and Love.

We shall overcome!!!

Finnish President, Prime Minister Confirm NATO Membership Bid Despite Russian Warnings

Finnish President, Prime Minister Confirm NATO Membership Bid Despite Russian Warnings

BERLIN (AP) – A senior NATO official said Sunday that Russia’s military advance in Ukraine appears to be faltering and he expressed hope that Kyiv can win the war, as Russia’s neighbour Finland announced it wants to join the Western military alliance.

Top NATO diplomats are meeting Sunday in Berlin to discuss providing further support to Ukraine and moves by Finland, Sweden, and others to join NATO in the face of threats from Russia.

The President and Government of Finland announced Sunday that the previously neutral Nordic country that shares a long border with Russia intends to apply for membership in NATO, paving the way for the 30-member Western military alliance to expand.

President Sauli Niinisto and Prime Minister Sanna Marin made the announcement at a joint news conference at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki.

“This is a historic day. A new era begins,” Niinisto said.

The Finnish Parliament is expected to endorse the decision in coming days, but it is considered a formality.

A formal membership application will then be submitted to NATO headquarters in Brussels, most likely at some point next week.

Geoana, who was chairing the meeting while NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg recovers from a COVID-19 infection, said Ukraine’s supporters were “united, we are strong, will continue to help Ukraine in winning this war.”

On the sidelines of the meeting, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met earlier Sunday with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba to discuss the impact of the war and how to get Ukraine’s grain to international markets.

State Department spokesperson Ned Price said Blinken “underscored the United States’ enduring commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russia’s unprovoked war.”

‘Russia Is Losing Momentum’ in ‘Brutal’ Ukraine Invasion: NATO

‘Russia Is Losing Momentum’ in ‘Brutal’ Ukraine Invasion: NATO

BERLIN (AP) – A senior NATO official says Russia’s military advance in Ukraine appears to be faltering and he expressed hope that Kyiv (Kiev) can win the war.

Top NATO diplomats are meeting Sunday in Berlin to discuss providing further support to Ukraine and moves by Finland, Sweden, and others to join the western alliance in the face of threats from Russia.

“The brutal invasion [by] Russia is losing momentum,” NATO Deputy Secretary-General Mircea Geoana told reporters. “We know that with the bravery of the Ukrainian people and army, and with our help, Ukraine can win this war.”

Geoana, who was chairing the meeting while NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg recovers from a COVID-19 infection, said Ukraine’s supporters were “united, we are strong, will continue to help Ukraine in winning this war.”

One key issue being discussed in Berlin is expansion of NATO beyond its current 30 member states.

Finland and Sweden have already taken steps toward joining the alliance, while Georgia’s bid is again being discussed despite dire warnings from Moscow about the consequences if its neighbour becomes part of NATO.

“Finland and Sweden are already the closest partners of NATO,” Geoana said, adding that he expected allies to view their applications positively — although Turkey’s president Recep Erdogan has expressed grave misgivings, likening the multicultural Scandinavian countries to “guesthouses for terrorist organisations.”

“We are following developments concerning Sweden and Finland carefully, but we are not of a favourable opinion,” said the Turk, who like all NATO leaders wields a veto over admitting new members to the alliance, on Friday.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to raise the matter with Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu this weekend.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said her country and others made clear during a dinner late Saturday that they would be willing to fast-track the national ratification process for Finland and Sweden.

“If these two countries are deciding to join, they can join very quickly,” she said.

Denmark’s foreign minister dismissed suggestions that objections from Russia’s President Vladimir Putin could hinder the alliance from letting in new members.

“Each and every European country has a fundamental right to choose their own security arrangement,” Jeppe Kofod told reporters.

“We see now a world where the enemy of democracy number one is Putin and the thinking that he represents,” he said, adding that NATO would also stand with other countries, such as Georgia, which he said were being “instrumentalized” by Russia.

Admitting Georgia to the notionally defensive alliance would raise immediate issues, however, given it is already locked in what is effectively a frozen conflict with Russia in South Ossetia, where pro-Russian separatists operate a self-declared breakaway republic actively defended by Russian forces.

Britain’s top foreign affairs minister said NATO members would also discuss security issues beyond Europe during their meeting Sunday — a reference to growing unease among democratic nations about the rise of China.

“As well as protecting Euro-Atlantic security, we also need to watch out for Indo-Pacific security,” Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said.

The meeting follows a gathering of foreign ministers from the Group of Seven (G7) leading economies on Germany’s Baltic Sea coast this week. Officials there expressed strong support for Ukraine and warned that Russia’s blockade of grain exports from Ukrainian ports risks stoking a global food crisis.

Ukrainian President Zelensky to Address World Economic Forum’s Globalist Davos Summit

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky will address the globalist forum of elites in Davos, Switzerland later this month, the World Economic Forum (WEF) announced on Friday.

The annual meeting of business elites and government leaders will once again take place in the Swiss ski resort of Davos later this month after being held virtually during the prior two years during the Chinese coronavirus crisis.

On Friday, the Klaus Schwab-led group announced: “The President of Ukraine, [Volodymyr Zelensky], will join our Annual Meeting virtually as the war continues to devastate his country.”

The meeting, which will run from May 22nd to 26th, will feature globalist heavyweights such as European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, Joe Biden’s Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, John Kerry, German climate and economy minister Robert Habeck, the director-general of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and European Central Bank chief Christine Lagarde.

Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February by Russian forces, Zelensky has become a staple on Western media, and has frequently appeared via video link in parliaments and congresses around the world, including the British, Canadian, and German parliaments, and the Congress of the United States.

The comedian turned president previously addressed the World Economic Forum in January of 2020 and has a biography page on the WEF’s website dedicated to him.

Following the escalation of the invasion of Ukraine, which began with the annexation of the Crimea in 2014, the World Economic Forum announced that it would be suspending ties with Russia.

President Putin has previously been featured at Davos meetings.

“We are not engaging with any sanctioned individual and have frozen all relations with Russian entities,” a WEF spokesman said in March.

Describing what is to be expected this year, the WEF, which has spearheaded the idea of a “Great Reset” of capitalism in the wake of the Wuhan virus pandemic, said: “Against a backdrop of deepening global frictions and fractures, it will be the starting point for a new era of global responsibility and cooperation.”

The announcement of Zelensky’s Davos attendance comes after the European Union announced that it would be sending an additional €500 million in military aid to Ukraine. This follows the U.S. House of Representatives, including all but 57 Republicans, voting to send another $40 billion in military and other forms of aid to Ukraine on Tuesday.

The U.S. bill still needs Senatorial approval, but despite widespread economic issues across the U.S. under the Biden administration there is bipartisan support to send more American taxpayer dollars to the war-torn country.

It also comes as the NATO is looking to expand its membership to include Sweden and Finland, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson already signing defensive pacts with the two Scandinavian countries and pledging British soldiers to their protection while they consider joining the military alliance.

The global food crisis, in part a result of the invasion of Ukraine, which is one of the top food producers in the world, will also likely serve as a topic of conversation at Davos.

Under the WEF’s previously stated goals for its Great Reset, the globalist group has advocated for humans consuming lab-manufactured meat and sustaining themselves with protein from bugs for a supposedly more sustainable future.

The “Great Resist” in Italy: Against NATO, the EU and Vaccine Pass

The “Great Resist” in Italy: Against NATO, the EU and Vaccine Pass

ER Editor: An Italian journalist we can’t recommend highly enough, Cesare Sacchetti, believes Italy, above all EU countries, has been the biggest European target by the NWO (remember how Italy seemed to get special attention for Covid after China?) for civilizational and cultural reasons. He believes that it will be from Italy where the biggest pushback against globalist forces (including of course the European Union structure itself) comes from.

This short video on some of the military capacity that Italy houses, AGAINST ITS WILL AND CONSTITUTION, is interesting:

The “Great Resist” in Italy: towards a common anti-passport, EU and NATO platform

TRIBUNE – “We want Italy to fight for Italy.” Whether in music, mathematics, architecture, physics or even and especially in poetics, the majority of the achievements of what is called “European” civilization derive from discoveries made in Italy, since the 12th or 13th century.

Since 1945, Italy has been sovereign in name only.

This country of artists and scientific geniuses, de facto occupied by the United States, is now a mere militarized platform of NATO, a model of what Europe is supposed to become.

Fearful since the assassination of the statesman Enrico Mattei (1904-1962), who had concluded gigantic agreements with the oil-producing countries, including the USSR, followed by the years of lead and accompanied by the murmur of the Gladio networks (ER: stay-behind, extreme right paramilitary networks under the control of Kissinger, formed after WWII to fight communism in Europe, which killed many Italians including prominent ones such as PM Aldo Mori in 1978. Their attacks on citizens, such as the Bologna train station bombing, were ‘false flag’ attacks because they were intended to blame the far-left of the day even though the left were not the perpetrators. As with the Covid scam, they were intended to make Italians fearful and look to the authority of the government. See the BBC documentary.), the average Italian citizen refrains from even dreaming of contesting these American bases. Because Italy is a country “where it is easy to die of accidents”.

Now, with the conflict in Ukraine, the security threat posed by Italy to its neighbors, with its American bases containing nuclear weapons, is coming to light. This is not a figment of the imagination or of some radical opinion, but a proven fact. Once decried as “ideological”, Manlio Dinlucci’s analyses are proven. (ER: also find him here on this site, and here on the Global Research site.)

Italy, reserve and therefore target of atomic weapons

At the end of April, Lazio Councillor Davide Barillari published on his website an inflammatory text by other authors: “Enough of the lies! Italy must leave NATO”. If Mr. Barillari is known as the white wolf for his opposition to the vaccine pass and experimental injections, he is also one of Italy’s outspoken opponents of NATO and the US military presence in Italy.

The press release, although it is marred by a few errors, nevertheless presents elements in the public domain to which the average citizen prefers to prudently turn a blind eye: in addition to the admitted NATO bases, there are 20 secret bases, for a total (the number being in constant flux, it is impossible to know the exact number) of 13,000 American soldiers. And these bases are extraterritorial, which is of paramount importance. No Italian knows what is going on there.

The U.S. Navy has a huge airfield in Sicily, in Sigonella, from which, among other things, the drones that prowl the Ukrainian-Russian border take off, as well as the Triton and Reaper drones. At Camp Darby, near Pisa, a bomb and weapons depot, 125 bunkers; at Gaeta, the flagship and command of the US 6th Fleet; at Ghedi, near Brescia, an atomic weapons depot; at Aviano, the largest US air base in the Mediterranean, a nuclear warhead depot; In Vicenza, where more than 90% of the population voted against the doubling of the American base, there is the American command for southern Europe, with thousands of soldiers; in Naples, the NATO Allied Joint Force Command, the command of the American Navy’s “Security Force”, the American submarine base, the air force command for the Mediterranean; in Mondragone, near Caserta, the anti-atomic underground for the American and NATO command.

According to the same press release, a total of 70 nuclear warheads are stored on Italian soil.

The list could go on for dozens of pages without ever being updated, as new American weapons, buildings and units are constantly arriving and leaving in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

Let’s go back to Camp Darby. This American base near Pisa is the object of a gigantic investment plan that is supposed to devour part of the Rossore National Park, with the felling of 1,000 trees, but above all, it is supposed to allow a multi-lane connection to the Port of Livorno. The project, apparently financed by the U.S. Department of Defense, is giving rise to rallies on May 14 and 15, under the acronym “The Economic Causes of War: Neoliberalism”, organized by the “No Camp Darby” committee. Among the topics: the fate of Julien Assange and “war journalism”, as well as “The militarization of the territory – cause and consequence of war”, with the economist Matteo Bortolon.

While its workers are among the lowest paid on the continent, Italy has recently increased its military budget from 25 to 38 billion euros annually.

In addition, the consumer association CODACONS has filed an appeal with the Lazio Administrative Court for abuse of power, which will be argued on May 25. According to Carlo Rienzi, president of CODACONS, the decree-law N°14-2022, by which the Italian government supplies arms to Ukraine, disregards articles 11 and 78 of the Italian Constitution.

CODACONS challenges not only the mechanism by which Italy is sending arms to Ukraine, but also the fact that the government has imposed secrecy on the categories of arms involved, presumably obscuring the fact that they may be offensive and not defensive weapons. Italy “is therefore in a state of war that has not been formally declared, in violation of Article 78 of the Constitution. This aid,” says CODACONS, “is not marginal, but decisive. Italy has thus exposed itself to all the consequences for what can be the retaliation from the Russian armies.”

Article 11 of the Constitution states, among other things, that “Italy repudiates war as a means of resolving international disputes”, while the law requires that any warlike operation be debated by Parliament. On his blog, Carlo Rienzi points out that the Italian taxpayer (and consumer), who has often been hostile to any Italian participation in the conflict, is financing these weapons, explosives and ammunition through taxes, without having been consulted.

Hidden shipments of arms to Pisa

Already in mid-March, workers at the Galilei airport in Pisa revolted when they discovered that the boxes they were loading at Cargo Village near the civilian airport, supposed to contain medical and humanitarian supplies, were in fact filled with arms and ammunition destined for Ukraine, via the American/NATO bases in Poland. Pointing out that the Ukrainians responsible for receiving the military cargo would be killed in the Russian bombing, the Italian handlers refused to handle the loads and demanded that air traffic controllers block the flights. This led to a demonstration in mid-March outside the airport.

The most accurate analyses of the danger of extinction posed by the American presence in Italy have come from the pens of very “left” strategists, such as Manlio Dinucci. This does not detract from their scientific accuracy, nor does it discredit the message that is now agitating the Italian Parliament. It has even seemed to reach the strange Atlanticist and Council President Mario Draghi.

Now, to everyone’s surprise, at the very moment when the Financial Times announced that “Italy has finally decided to play hardball with Russia”, Mario Draghi declared, at the end of his meeting with Joe Biden on May 10 in Washington:

“At the beginning of the war, some people said that Italy should play a role, to which I replied: it is not useful to seek a role. We must seek peace. It doesn’t matter who the parties involved are, what is needed is a peace initiative, not a partisan initiative.”

ER: Draghi also gave a very weird response over EU energy companies paying in rubles for gas, basically saying that it doesn’t break sanctions (eh?) and that many countries are doing it. See European Sanctions Blown To Bits: Draghi Says “Most Gas Importers” Have Opened Ruble Accounts With Gazprom.

The “Great Resist” in Italy: towards a common platform against the pass, the EU and NATO

Should we look for this apparent turning point in the declarations of Pope Francis, or rather in the meeting between the opponents of the pass and the Italian “Gaullist” movement?

On May 1, a congress was held in Padua that will perhaps be seen as historic in scope. It brought together all the opposition movements: Ancora Italia, Alternativa, Federazione Terza Repubblica, Italexit, Liberiamo l’Italia, Movimento 3V and Riconquistare l’Italia, to discuss a common platform. The event was covered by the new Byoblu news channel, which like several Italian channels run by mostly non-professional journalists (Cento Giorni da Leoni, Lugocomune by Massimo Mazzuco, Visione tv), is self-financed and now broadcasts several times a day.

“In the name of Peace, Work and Freedom, we want Italy to fight for Italy,” said a young woman who attended the Congress. A word of the end… or of a new beginning?

The Liberty Beacon Project is now expanding at a near exponential rate, and for this we are grateful and excited! But we must also be practical. A Reckless Policy Of ‘Bleeding Russia’ Risks Getting The United States Into A Foolish Foreign War

A Reckless Policy Of ‘Bleeding Russia’ Risks Getting The United States Into A Foolish Foreign War

The New York Times on Wednesday published an op-ed by Tom Stevenson arguing what some of us have been arguing for a while now: the Biden administration is openly — and recklessly — pursuing a policy of escalation in Ukraine that represents a new and very dangerous phase in the war.

Stevenson, a journalist who reported from Ukraine in the opening weeks of the war, argues that initially the United States and its North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies responded to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine rather straightforwardly, with supplies of arms to the Ukrainians and economic sanctions on Russia. But things have changed over the past month.

Now, instead of simply helping Ukraine stave off invasion and conquest, U.S. policy seems to have shifted into something else entirely: the permanent weakening of Russia at any cost. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said so explicitly after a clandestine visit to Ukraine with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken last month. After her own recent visit to Kyiv, Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi characterized the war as a global struggle for democracy.

To back up these outlandish claims, the Biden administration has now proposed a $40 billion military aid package to Ukraine, quadruple what the United States has thus far given Ukraine since the outbreak of the war in late February. On top of that, it appears the U.S. military may be providing real-time battlefield targeting intelligence to the Ukrainians, arguably making the United States an active belligerent in the conflict.

All of this amounts to a major policy shift on the part of the United States, writes Stevenson: “Whereas once the primary Western objective was to defend against the invasion, it has become the permanent strategic attrition of Russia.” This shift, he adds, has “coincided with the abandonment of diplomatic efforts.”

So what possible strategic gain does bleeding Russia in Ukraine hold for the United States? The risks of pursuing such a policy are immense, including the possibility of nuclear war between the world’s top two nuclear powers. If the Biden administration has some overarching goal in mind, it has not bothered to tell the American people. Instead, we are trundling along the road to war as if every decision we make is simply a reaction to Russian aggression.

But in fact, the war itself has shifted dramatically since late February, and conditions now are arguably more favorable to a cease-fire and a negotiated political settlement than they were even a month ago. Having failed in its initial push on Kyiv in the northern part of the country amid fierce resistance from the Ukrainians, Russia has shifted its strategy, limiting its forces to the south and east of Ukraine in hopes of consolidating control of a much more limited territory.

But instead of recognizing this for the concession that it is and seizing the chance to persuade both sides to stop fighting and make a deal, the United States has responded by publicly calling for the weakening of Russia and committing an enormous amount of taxpayer dollars to arming Ukraine in what might otherwise be turning into a much more limited conflict in the eastern part of that country.

A cynic might conclude that the Biden administration doesn’t really want the fighting to stop and will gladly keep funding a proxy war with Russia, even as it denies that it is doing so. A cynic might also argue that U.S. policy in Ukraine now has very little to do with Ukraine and everything to do with Moscow, possibly even encompassing the dangerous fantasy of regime change in the Kremlin.

That is certainly the view of Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who claimed this week that “we can win this war on behalf of Ukraine.” (Recall that Graham called for the assassination of Russian President Vladimir Putin back in March.)

Indeed, Biden and the Democrats have largely been joined in their strategic folly by most Republicans. Only 57 GOP members of the House voted against the $40 billion aid package to Ukraine this week.

As things stand now, it’s not unreasonable to suppose a bipartisan consensus is emerging in Washington to expand the war and get the United States directly involved in it under the pretext that the battle for Donbas is, as Pelosi ludicrously claimed, “the frontier of freedom.” To quote Stevenson, “This is not just declamatory extravagance. It is reckless. The risks hardly need to be stated.”

If The U.S. Is Giving Ukraine Real-Time Battlefield Intel, Congress Needs To Vote On It

If The U.S. Is Giving Ukraine Real-Time Battlefield Intel, Congress Needs To Vote On It

The New York Times claimed this week that the United States is providing real-time battlefield intelligence to Ukraine that has enabled the Ukrainians to target and kill approximately a dozen Russian generals, and helped locate and strike the flagship of Russia’s Black Sea fleet last month.

Described as a “classified effort,” the U.S. provision of targeting intelligence to Ukraine “also includes anticipated Russian troop movements gleaned from recent American assessments of Moscow’s secret battle plan for the fighting in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine,” according to the Times.

The Times’ reporting relies on anonymous “senior American officials,” but if true it represents a sharp and unprecedented escalation of U.S. involvement in the Russo-Ukrainian war, such that Congress should immediately debate and vote on whether to authorize the use of military force in Ukraine.

Indeed, providing real-time targeting intelligence brings the United States right up to the line of belligerence, and arguably over it. The Biden administration seems to understand this. According to the Times, the administration “has sought to keep much of the battlefield intelligence secret, out of fear it will be seen as an escalation and provoke President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia into a wider war.”

The White House is right to fear this outcome, because it’s entirely possible that Putin will absolutely consider this level of battlefield participation by the United States tantamount to an act of war. That’s no doubt why the Biden administration snapped into damage control mode after the Times story about targeting intelligence published on Wednesday.

Adrienne Watson, a National Security Council spokeswoman, criticized the Times’ headline and said in a statement that battlefield intelligence was not provided to the Ukrainians “with the intent to kill Russian generals.” Asked about the Times report on Thursday, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby echoed Watson: “We do not provide intelligence on the location of senior military leaders on the battlefield or participate in the targeting decisions of the Ukrainian military.”

Then on Thursday evening, a second Times story dropped, again sourced to anonymous senior administration officials, detailing how U.S. intelligence helped Ukraine confirm the location of the Russian flagship Moskva, which on April 13 was hit by Ukrainian forces on the ground with two Neptune missiles and eventually sank. The Moskva is the largest warship sunk since World War Two, and a significant loss for the Russian Navy. Some U.S. officials cited by the Times said the American intelligence was “crucial” to the sinking of the Moskva.

The news coincides with reports earlier this week that Russia’s highest-ranking general and chief of the general staff, Valery Gerasimov, was wounded while visiting the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. (According to the Times, the strike that wounded Gerasimov was conducted without the aid of U.S. intelligence.)

In addition to intelligence sharing, the United States is now providing Ukraine with new and better weapons, including heavy artillery, state-of-the-art tactical drones, and armored vehicles. And that’s just for starters. Last week President Biden asked Congress to authorize $33 billion in weapons funding for Ukraine, on top of the billions we’ve already provided. If the past few months are any indication, as the war drags on we will furnish Ukraine with increasingly advanced (and expensive) weaponry and weapons systems.

It’s time to have a debate about all this in Congress, so the representatives of the American people can at least have a say in the matter before we stumble into war with Russia over Ukraine.

Why? Because the news we might be giving Ukraine real-time Russian targets on the battlefield isn’t some trifling or technical thing. It’s a major development — and potentially a major step toward war. It’s true that the United States has been sharing intelligence with Ukraine since before Russia’s invasion on February 24, and indeed was sharing intelligence with allies in the runup to the invasion, but nothing close to what is described by the Times.

To understand the degree of U.S. escalation the Times report would suggest, a little background is in order. In early March, there appeared to be some confusion among Democrats on the question of intelligence sharing. Rep. Adam Smith, D-Washington, chair of the House Armed Services Committee, told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that the United States was “providing some intelligence” but not “real-time targeting.”

Asked about this later, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki implied that Smith was wrong, saying the United States was providing the Ukrainians “timely intelligence” that “includes information that should help them inform and develop their military response to Russia’s invasion.” When Politico’s NatSec Daily tweeted this, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, the top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee, replied on Twitter that Psaki’s answer was “truthy,” but that “it does not capture the full reality.”

What did Rubio mean? The most likely scenario is that the United States was providing battlefield intelligence to the Ukrainians with built-in latency, a delay of 20 or 30 minutes — enough to plausibly deny that we were actively helping Ukraine target Russian troops and thus avoid getting drawn into the war.

But if the Times report is accurate, we’ve gotten rid of that latency, with huge implications for the U.S. role in the conflict. The Times report goes on to say that “U.S. intelligence support to the Ukrainians has had a decisive effect on the battlefield, confirming targets identified by the Ukrainian military and pointing it to new targets. The flow of actionable intelligence on the movement of Russian troops that America has given Ukraine has few precedents.”

A level of intelligence-sharing that has few precedents might well have huge consequences. As a thought experiment, imagine that during the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 we discovered that Moscow was relaying real-time battlefield intelligence about U.S. troop movements to Saddam Hussein’s Republican Guard, and that as a result of this intelligence a number of U.S. units and commanders had been taken out.

Would U.S. leaders have said nothing and done nothing? Let it go with a strongly worded statement? Probably not. There probably would have been some form of retaliation on our part.

Likewise, if U.S. involvement in this war continues to escalate — and especially if the United States continues to give the Ukrainians battlefield targets in real-time — we should expect and prepare for some kind of retaliation by Moscow.

In the meantime, it’s not too much to ask that Congress, as representatives of the American people, debate and vote on whether to authorize a U.S. march to war that’s now well underway.

Global Food Crisis: ‘Perfect Storm’ of World Hunger Thanks to the Ukraine Crisis and COVID Could Starve Millions

Global Food Crisis: ‘Perfect Storm’ of World Hunger Thanks to the Ukraine Crisis and COVID Could Starve Millions

Millions are at risk of starvation thanks to COVID and the ongoing war in Ukraine, both of which have helped create a “perfect storm” of a global food crisis.

Experts have warned that millions of people across the world are on the brink of starvation thanks to a “perfect storm” of a global food crisis.

A report by the Global Network Against Food Crises — a multinational organisation founded by the European Union as well as various United Nations bodies — found that 2021 represented the worst year for world hunger, but that things could soon get a whole lot worse thanks to a wide variety of ongoing geopolitical problems.

According to the organisation’s annual Global Report on Food Crises, 193 million people face acute food insecurity in 2021, which they define as being in a state where a person’s food intake is so low as to put their lives or livelihoods in immediate danger.

By far the single largest cause of this food insecurity last year was conflict, while the issue of economic shocks and climate change came in as very distant second and third place causes respectively.

However, despite how bad things got last year, experts who participated in the creation and publication of the report now fear that things could get a whole lot worse in 2022 as a result of a wide number of ongoing crises.

“Acute hunger is soaring to unprecedented levels and the global situation just keeps on getting worse,” said David Beasley, a former Republican Party governor who now serves as the executive director of the World Food Programme.

“Conflict, the climate crisis, COVID-19 and surging food and fuel costs have created a perfect storm — and now we’ve got the war in Ukraine piling catastrophe on top of catastrophe,” he continued. “Millions of people in dozens of countries are being driven to the edge of starvation.”

“We urgently need emergency funding to pull them back from the brink and turn this global crisis around before it’s too late,” he went on to say.

This is far from the first time that Beasley has warned of the potentially cataclysmic impacts the forthcoming global food shortage could potentially have, having previously said that Europe in particular could soon be facing “Hell on Earth” if efforts aren’t made to feed the most vulnerable.

“Failure to provide this year a few extra billion dollars [for feeding the vulnerable] means you’re going to have famine, destabilization, and mass migration,” the former Governor of South Carolina said.

“If you think we’ve got Hell on earth now, you just get ready,” he continued. “If we neglect northern Africa, northern Africa’s coming to Europe. If we neglect the Middle East, [the] Middle East is coming to Europe.”

Despite this warning, it looks like actually turning the crisis around will be far more easily said than done, with Ukraine — one of the world’s biggest exporters of wheat — now finding itself almost completely cut off from external markets thanks to Russia’s invasion.

Around 20 million tons of grain are thought to be stuck in the eastern European nation as of the time of writing, with the United Nation’s World Food Programme’s Martin Frick expressing frustration at the dire state of affairs.

“None of the grain can be used right now,” he said. “It is just sitting there… The world urgently needs these items of food from Ukraine.”

“We demand… the grain trade routes remain open despite the Ukraine war,” he continued, emphasising the importance of getting the resources out of the country and to the rest of the world.

However, some have accused Russia of deliberately trying to impede the export of wheat from the country, with Ireland’s Prime Minister saying that the Russian military is actively targeting grain stockpiles in the country for destruction.

“The largest grain silos in the Ukraine have all been levelled so there is a very clear strategic objective there to create a food crisis on top of the energy crisis that has been created as well as waging an immoral and unjust war on Ukraine itself,” Taoiseach Micheál Martin said after meeting his Ukrainian counterpart, Denys Shmyhal, who stopped off in Ireland on his way to Washington DC.
