Exclusive: Rep. Issa Calls for Whistleblowers to Come Forward After New Claims from Alleged Biden Associate

Top Congressional investigator Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) is calling for whistleblowers to come forward after the arrest of an Israeli think-tank executive who allegedly served with Hunter Biden as an adviser to a Chinese energy company and claims to have documents detailing financial links between President Joe Biden and the company.

Gal Luft, co-director of the D.C.-based Institute for the Analysis of Global Security and specialist in energy security and U.S.-China relations, was arrested in Cyprus on an Interpol arrest warrant against him on suspicion of arms trafficking to Libya and China, according to Israeli news outlet Ynet.

But, according to Luft, the arrest is “political revenge” for bringing the FBI incriminating information ahead of the 2020 election about Joe Biden’s ties to his family’s business with a Chinese energy company.

“My only ‘sin’ is that in March 2019, before the US presidential elections, I brought to the FBI incriminating information about the business of US President Joe Biden’s family with China, and about a corruption case at the top of the FBI,” Luft told Ynet.

Israeli international criminal and civil rights lawyer Mordechai Tzivin, who is representing Luft, told the Jerusalem Post his client has information that would “bury” Hunter Biden and “shift attention toward the president himself.”

“[He] knows a lot of information on Hunter. The [Congress] only recently began to investigate Hunter’s case and Gal’s testimony, if [he is allowed to testify] will bury Hunter Biden.” Tzivin told the Post. “Even more so, his testimony will shift the attention toward the president himself.”

Tzivin refused to provide documentation to support his claims when contacted by Breitbart News. Tzivin also declined to provide comment.

Israeli international criminal and civil rights lawyer Mordechai Tzivin, who is representing Luft, told the Jerusalem Post that his client has information that would "bury" Hunter Biden and "shift attention toward the president himself."

Israeli international criminal and civil rights lawyer Mordechai Tzivin, who is representing Luft, said his client has information that would “bury” Hunter Biden and “shift attention toward the president himself.”

Following the reporting on Luft’s case, Rep. Issa told Breitbart he encourages any whistleblowers with information that would advance Congressional investigations into the Biden family business scheme and Department of Justice malfeasance to come forward.

“One never knows where whistleblowers, concerned individuals and the critical information they provide will be found next. But we must always be ready — especially as we uncover more and more Biden family corruption — to receive evidence that advances the cause of accountability and oversight,” Issa told Breitbart.

Issa — who held Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress in 2012, the first time in history that such a punitive measure had been taken against an AG — now sits on the House Judiciary Committee and the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. The congressman has displayed eagerness to investigate election interference with regard to the suppression of information on Biden family business entanglements, sending preservation of documents notices last March to 12 individuals involved in the censorship of the New York Post’s reporting on the Biden scion’s “laptop from hell.”

The House Oversight Committee told Breitbart that it is aware of Luft’s allegations and will be making contact with his lawyer.
“Oversight Committee staff are aware of the allegations and will be in touch with the attorney soon,” the committee’s spokesman said.

In recent days, a number of Biden family associates have been reported to be cooperating with House investigators as polling shows a further drift in sentiment away from the president’s family and its business dealings.

Kathy Chung, President Biden’s former “primary gatekeeper,” has agreed to partially comply with the House Oversight Committee’s probe into the classified document scandal and the Biden family’s international business schemes. Chung’s lawyer, Bill Taylor, told CNN she will hand over some requested documents and sit for an interview with the committee.

Hunter Biden’s top financial lieutenant Eric Schwerin is also expected to “soon” provide documents to the Oversight Committee’s investigation of the Biden family, according to a spokesperson for the committee who spoke to Breitbart.

Photos: 2,300+ Dead as Earthquake Levels Buildings in Turkey and Syria

The death toll from the magnitude 7.5 earthquakes in southeastern Turkey continued to climb on Monday morning, as rescuers scrambled to search for the injured, missing, and dead beneath the rubble of fallen buildings.

The latest count as of press time put the death toll in Turkey and Syria at over 2,300 and rising.

Reporters and amateur videographers captured scenes of terrifying destruction:

A large number of photographers were on the street to cover the aftermath of the initial earthquake, only to be caught in the equally powerful second quake with their cameras running:

By the time the second quake was over, buildings were collapsed against each other like dominoes:

The first quake occurred before sunrise in freezing cold temperatures, so most local residents were indoors. The second quake hit while rescuers were attempting to pull survivors from already-damaged buildings, putting even more lives at risk.

Syrian cities reported huge amounts of damage from the earthquake as well:

The historic Gaziantep Castle, which dates back thousands of years to the Roman Empire and has lately been used as a museum, was devastated by the earthquake:

The Turkish government claimed on Monday that the quake did not damage its vital oil pipelines to Iraq, but the Ceyhan oil terminal in southern Turkey placed an emergency halt on operations, according to shipping companies. Local Turkish energy officials also said the flow of natural gas was halted to several provinces due to damaged lines.

Video quickly spread on social media of immense fiery explosions at gas pipelines ruptured by the quake:

Later on Monday morning, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced that the Iraqi oil export pipeline from Kirkuk would be shut down until a “careful inspection of the pipelines is finalized.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday the earthquake was the worst disaster Turkey has seen since the Erzincan quake of 1939, which killed almost 33,000 people. The BBC noted a quake in northwestern Turkey in 1999 killed 17,000 people, which suggests Erdogan believes the death and damage from Monday’s disaster could prove to be worse than that.

Powerful Earthquake Rocks Turkey, Syria: Death Toll Stands at 1,300+ and Rising

A powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked southern Turkey and northern Syria early Monday morning, toppling hundreds of buildings and killing more than 1,300 people. The death toll is expected to rise throughout the day.

Rescue workers searched mounds of wreckage in cities and towns across the area as hundreds of people remained trapped under rubble.

The pre-dawn quake drove residents outside outside on a cold, rainy and snowy winter night, as buildings were flattened and strong aftershocks continued.

Rescue workers and residents in multiple cities searched for survivors, working through tangles of metal and giant piles of concrete, AP reports.

“Six hundred and thirty-nine people were injured and 237 were killed in the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama and Tartus,” the Syrian health ministry said in a statement.

In northern Syrian areas controlled by pro-Turkish factions, at least eight people were killed in the regions of Azaz and Al-Bab, Omar Alwan, the medical response coordinator for the area told AFP, adding the number was likely to rise as search and rescue operations were ongoing.

“We have been working on rescuing survivors and recovering the dead from under the rubble,” he said, as dozens of rescuers and residents toiled in the darkness, looking for survivors in the rubble with their flashlights.

The 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit near Gaziantep in southeastern Turkey on Monday at 04:17 am (0117 GMT) at a depth of about 17.9 kilometres (11 miles), the US Geological Survey said.

The tremors were felt in Lebanon, Syria and Cyprus, according to AFP correspondents.

House Ousts Ilhan Omar from Foreign Affairs Committee in Party Line Vote

House Ousts Ilhan Omar from Foreign Affairs Committee in Party Line Vote

The House voted Thursday along party lines to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from her seat on the Foreign Affairs Committee through a resolution that cites her past derogatory remarks about Jewish people and anti-Israel posture.

The vote passed 218 to 211, with all Democrats voting against the resolution and one Republican, Rep. David Joyce (R-OH), voting “present.”

The vote is a win for House Republicans, who hold a slim majority in the chamber, after a few from their conference initially objected to the resolution. The three who had vocally opposed it, Reps. Victoria Spartz (R-IN), Nancy Mace (R-SC), and Ken Buck (R-CO), had flipped their vote by Thursday morning.

Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN), a key player in the successful whip operation, told Breitbart News in an exclusive statement that Omar, a fellow Minnesotan, had “no place representing American interests” on the Foreign Affairs Committee.

“There is no debate that Ilhan Omar, the face of antisemitism in the Democrat Party, has no place representing American interests on the Foreign Affairs Committee. Ms. Omar is an embarrassment to Minnesota and our country,” Emmer said.

The vote is also a victory for Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who first indicated he would strip Omar of the committee seat in an interview with Breitbart News more than a year ago.

“Ilhan Omar should not be serving on Foreign Affairs,” McCarthy said at the time. “This is a new level of what the Democrats have done.”

The House voted mostly on partisan lines to strip Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Paul Gosar (R-AZ) of their committee assignments in 2021 because of their inflammatory rhetoric and social media posts. That same year, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) also rejected two of McCarthy’s choices for the January 6 select committee.

One of the Republicans who had initially opposed booting Omar from the committee, Spartz, credited McCarthy with adding “due process language” to the resolution on Omar to convince her to flip her vote, though Rules Committee ranking member Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) said, per the Hill, that the “notion this resolution has any due process is simply bullshit.”

Republicans’ opposition to Omar serving on the committee comes after the two-term Minnesota Democrat gained a reputation for promoting antisemitic tropes, such as claiming Israel had “hypnotized the world” and that support for Israel was “all about the Benjamins.”

Omar later apologized for the remarks but continued to take anti-Israel positions.

In 2019, Omar introduced a resolution that supported the anti-Israel “boycott, divestment, sanctions” (BDS) movement. In 2021, she lumped “atrocities” supposedly committed by the U.S. and Israel in with those committed by the Taliban and Hamas. Equating the U.S. and its Middle East ally to the two terrorist groups led to condemnation from her own party’s leadership and again resulted in Omar apologizing. Later in 2021, Omar was one of just nine members of the House to vote against a $1 billion investment in Israel’s defense system.

Omar also made headlines in 2019 for remarks she made at a conference hosted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Omar, who is Muslim,  said the group “was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”

The phrase “some people did something” outraged some, who criticized her for downplaying the deadly terrorist attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 Americans. Omar however defended the remarks, likening them to remarks made by former President George W. Bush at the time of the attacks and suggesting he would have been criticized more if he were Muslim.

Rep. Claudia Tenney, a Republican congresswoman from New York, evoked Omar’s comments in a statement online ahead of the vote on Thursday, saying, “Today, some people will do something to Ilhan Omar’s committee assignment.”

CAIR, for its part, had been advocating for Omar to keep her seat, calling her the target of “bad-faith” allegations.

The group said in a statement this week, “American Muslims are prepared to fight for our Muslim representatives in Congress when they are unfairly targeted with politically-motivated attacks, Islamophobic rhetoric, and in-bad-faith allegations.”

Omar, a Somali American who lived in a refugee camp as a child, spoke on the House floor ahead of the vote next to a photo of herself when she was nine years old. Omar vowed “to continue to speak up, because representation matters” in spite of her anticipated ouster from the committee.

“Is anyone surprised that I am being targeted?” Omar asked. “Frankly it is expected because when you push power, power pushes back.”

Exclusive: ZOA Accuses Ilhan Omar of Hating the U.S. ‘as Much as Israel,’ Lauds Kevin McCarthy for ‘Throwing Her Off the HFAC’

Exclusive: ZOA Accuses Ilhan Omar of Hating the U.S. ‘as Much as Israel,’ Lauds Kevin McCarthy for ‘Throwing Her Off the HFAC’

Following Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) outrageous claim she was unaware of antisemitic tropes associating Jewish people with money, Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) head Morton Klein blasted the Somalia-born Democrat, accusing her of hating America “as much as Israel,” while commending House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for vowing to remove her from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Speaking with Breitbart News on Tuesday, Klein, who has headed the nation’s oldest pro-Israel organization for nearly two decades, accused the Minnesota “Squad” member, notorious for her antisemitic sentiments, of lying about her recent claims.

“Rep. Omar is lying when she claims she didn’t know it was antisemitic to conspicuously claim it’s Jewish money (Benjamins) that buys support for the Jewish State of Israel, or that the only explanation of people supporting Israel is that Jews magically, through their evil powers, ‘hypnotize’ people into this support,” he said.

The ZOA leader then called out Omar for her continuous hypocrisy when it comes to Israel.

“Bigot Omar openly condemns boycotting sanctions against enemies like communist dictators of Cuba and Venezuela yet demands boycotting and sanctioning our friend, the Jewish State of Israel, and shows sympathy for enemies of America and Israel, such as ISIS,” he said.

Noting that she has “never criticized the Jew-hating enemy of Israel, the Palestinian Authority, that pays Arabs lifetime pensions to murder Jews, in addition to glorifying Jew-killers,” Klein blasted Omar for having “absurdly claimed she’s not a Jew-hating Israel-basher.”

“Moreover, she hates America as much as Israel,” he added.

Klein concluded by commending her slated removal from the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

“Speaker Kevin McCarthy is so right in throwing her off the House Foreign Relations Committee,” citing her “antisemitic” and “anti-American” comments.

Klein’s remarks follow Omar’s appearance Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union, where she spoke with anchor Dana Bash about her past statements, including accusing Israel of being an “apartheid regime” that has “hypnotized the world,” while claiming pro-Israel stances of politicians are “all about the Benjamins.”

“I might have used words at the time that I didn’t understand were trafficking in antisemitism. When that was brought to my attention, I apologized. I owned up to it. That’s the kind of person that I am,” she said.

“I continue to work with my colleagues and my community to fight against antisemitism,” she added.

Later, Omar said she was not even aware that there were tropes about Jews and money.

“I certainly did not, or was not, aware that the word ‘hypnotized’ was a trope,” she said. “I wasn’t aware of the fact that there are tropes about Jews and money. That has been [a] very enlightening part of this journey.”

“To insinuate that I knowingly said these things when people have read into my comments to make it sound as if I have something against the Jewish community is so wrong,” she added.

Omar has a history of controversy, having been accused repeatedly of being antisemitic and anti-American.

Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) blasted the “squad” member in June after the congresswoman equated the United States and Israel to Hamas terrorists and the Taliban, claiming she was unfit to serve in Congress.

“Omar is an antisemite who hates America and hates American troops,” he said. “She has no place serving in Congress.”

In 2019, then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) defended Omar, telling reporters that while Omar had made several anti-Jewish remarks, she had not been “intentionally antisemitic.”

Celebrating Christmas, the Birth of Jesus – ‘Wise Men from the East Came to Jerusalem’

Christians worldwide celebrate Christmas today, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who was born approximately 4 B.C. in the town of Bethlehem, five miles east of Jerusalem, in the nation of Israel.

Four gospel accounts in the Bible provide many of the details surrounding the birth of Jesus, including stories of extraordinary and supernatural events coupled with more broadly known historical details.

One is the visit of the magi – or “wise men” – in the months following Jesus’ birth. Tradition says they were three in number, but in reality, the Bible does not specify their names or number, nor which country east of Israel they came from.

From the Gospel according to Matthew:

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. They hold him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet:

And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah, for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.”

Then Herod summoned the wise men secretly and ascertained from them what time the star had appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem saying, “Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship him.” After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. And being warned in a dream not to return to Herold, they departed to their own country by another way.

Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.” And he rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed to Egypt, and remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, “Out of Egypt I called me son.”

WATCH: Argentina’s Goalie Makes Vulgar Gesture with World Cup Golden Glove Award

WATCH: Argentina’s Goalie Makes Vulgar Gesture with World Cup Golden Glove Award

After winning the World Cup’s Golden Glove Award in Qatar this weekend Argentina’s Emiliano Martinez put the hand-shaped trophy to his crotch and made a pumping gesture, shocking everyone in the stadium.

One Fox Sports journalist could be heard moaning, “No, don’t do that, Emi. Don’t do that,” after he was given the award, the New York Post reported.

Martinez was Argentina’s indispensable player during the World Cup’s final game against France with a great save during extra time and a penalty save to help seal the win for Argentina.

The 30-year-old player was seen weeping tears of joy immediately after the final score on Sunday. But those tears were dry enough and playtime was on hand after he took possession of the Golden Glove trophy.

Qatari officials have not commented on the rude gesture, but it isn’t likely that a nation that outlaws homosexuality and warned World Cup fans not to have sex while in the country will be too happy over the player’s move.

Martinez delivered what is being called the “greatest save of all-time” with seconds left on the clock, with the score tied at 3-3.

Many will likely hope that his follow-up with the trophy, though, is something that everyone forgets.
