Democrats Slip Capitol Hill Jobs Plan for Illegal Aliens into Funding Package

Democrats Slip Capitol Hill Jobs Plan for Illegal Aliens into Funding Package

Democrats on the House Appropriations Committee have slipped a Capitol Hill jobs plan for illegal aliens enrolled in former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program into a government funding package.

As part of their legislative funding package for the 2023 fiscal year, House Democrats are hoping to reward DACA illegal aliens by allowing them to take jobs in Washington, DC, on Capitol Hill.

The move would be expansive, as it would likely place DACA illegal aliens in the offices of Democrats in the House and Senate.

The language of the provision reads:

House Appropriations Committee

For years, Democrats have sought to ensure that DACA illegal aliens can take coveted Capitol Hill jobs. Last year, for instance, they advanced a similar plan through the House, but it ultimately stalled.

As Breitbart News reported, from 2012 to 2018, more than 53,000 illegal aliens were awarded DACA status despite having prior arrest records, including for crimes like murder, kidnapping, rape, child pornography, and sex crimes.

Currently, the nation’s largest multinational corporations — represented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce — are lobbying Washington, DC, lawmakers to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens enrolled and eligible for DACA.

Chamber of Commerce: Obama’s DACA Illegal Aliens Are ‘the American Dream’

Chamber of Commerce: Obama’s DACA Illegal Aliens Are ‘the American Dream’

The United States Chamber of Commerce is celebrating former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program on its 10th anniversary, calling enrolled illegal aliens the embodiment of “the American dream.”

This week, President Joe Biden’s administration marked the 10th anniversary of Obama’s DACA program that has helped nearly 800,000 illegal aliens evade arrest and deportation from the U.S.

Neil Bradley with the Chamber of Commerce marked the anniversary of DACA by calling on Republicans to work with Democrats to pass amnesty for the millions of illegal aliens enrolled and eligible for the program.

“It is outrageous and unacceptable that after a decade of debate, Republicans and Democrats in Congress have not been able to come together and enact legislation to protect the hundreds of thousands of Dreamers,” Bradley wrote in a statement:

Brought here as children, the vast majority of these young men and women know no other home than the U.S. They have been educated here and they contribute to their communities and the businesses where they work. Some have even started their own business where they employ other Americans. That is the American Dream. [Emphasis added]

Because of Congress’s inaction, our neighbors, coworkers, and friends who happen to be Dreamers face tremendous uncertainty about whether they will be allowed to remain our neighbors and coworkers. Providing these individuals with permanent legal status is not just good for our communities and the economy, it is the right thing to do. [Emphasis added]

For months, the Chamber has been lobbying Republicans in Washington, D.C. to advance amnesty for illegal aliens and double legal immigration levels to bring in more than two million foreign nationals a year on green cards and visas.

Despite their mass immigration advocacy, a number of elected Republicans continue accepting donations from the Chamber’s political action committee (PAC), including Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Todd Young (R-IN), John Thune (R-SD), Mike Lee (R-UT), Jerry Moran (R-KS), Vernon Buchanan (R-FL), Peter Meijer (R-MI), Don Bacon (R-NE), Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), Ashley Hinson (R-IA), Maria Salazar (R-FL), Nancy Mace (R-SC), Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), and Elise Stefanik (R-NY), among others.

As Breitbart News reported, from 2012 to 2018, more than 53,000 illegal aliens were awarded DACA despite having prior arrest records including for crimes like murder, kidnapping, rape, child pornography, and sex crimes.

Ten Years Later: Over 53K Illegal Aliens Given DACA Despite Arrest Records Including for Murder, Rape, Kidnapping

Ten Years Later: Over 53K Illegal Aliens Given DACA Despite Arrest Records Including for Murder, Rape, Kidnapping

Ten years ago, in 2012, former President Barack Obama created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program via executive order that has allowed nearly 800,000 illegal aliens to evade arrest and deportation.

Standards for the Obama program were set so low that tens of thousands of illegal aliens with prior arrest records for crimes like murder, rape, and kidnapping were able to secure DACA status.

In 2018, then-President Trump’s administration released comprehensive data on DACA, previously hidden by the Obama administration, that revealed the extent to which the program had successfully helped shield criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

From 2012 to 2018, about 53,792 illegal aliens were awarded DACA despite having prior arrest records. Meanwhile, nearly 8,000 illegal aliens awarded DACA were later arrested for crimes, the data shows.

For instance, thousands of illegal aliens were given DACA status despite arrests for drug crimes, assault, burglary, gun crimes, money laundering, hit-and-run, sexual abuse, child pornography, and robbery, among others.

More than 30 illegal aliens were given DACA status despite having previously been arrested for rape. Ten illegal aliens, likewise, were awarded DACA after having been arrested for murder and 95 illegal aliens after having been arrested for kidnapping.

The full list of prior arrests for illegal aliens given DACA status can be viewed here:

As Breitbart News has chronicled for years, thousands of DACA illegal aliens have gone on to commit crimes against Americans.

In 2019, for example, 23-year-old illegal alien Jesus Manzanilla Alvarado was given just six months in prison after having been convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 68-year-old hospital patient who was suffering from anxiety and depression in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Alvarado had been awarded DACA years prior, ICE officials confirmed at the time, and had multiple run-ins with the law. DACA allowed him to secure a job and remain in the U.S.

Mayorkas Pushes ‘Backlog Amnesty’ for over 1 Million Illegals Facing Deportation

Mayorkas Pushes ‘Backlog Amnesty’ for over 1 Million Illegals Facing Deportation

President Joe Biden’s border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, is planning a no-deportation amnesty for many of the 1.7 million illegal migrants waiting in the courtroom backlogs, even as officials are preparing to welcome many hundreds of thousands more job-seeking migrants.

“This is the equivalent of nullifying our immigration laws,” said Rob Law at the Center for Immigration Studies, who is a former appointee at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The backlog amnesty will be quickly used as an excuse by officials to justify the award of work permits and green cards to the illegal migrants, he said:

This is how this will be teed up. They’ll say, “As you know, these people were being subjected to these draconian [deportation] rules of the past that don’t reflect our current equity and compassion … but now it’s not right for them to not have the opportunity to have a livelihood.” That’s what the messaging will be for next giving them mass parole or some [status] that allows a work permit … They’re laundering illegal migration behavior through a multi-staged approach.

The backlog amnesty is being marketed as a cost-saving measure for the government’s prosecutors and judges before the planned inflow of myriad more economic migrants once the Title 42 barrier is removed in late May.

But the government’s cost-saving will impose huge pocketbook costs on the millions of Americans who are struggling to earn decent wages or to pay their inflating rents in an economy flooded with illegal migrants. Those pocketbook problems are undermining Democrats’ chances in the 2022 election, according to a survey of loyal Democrats reported on April 4 by Politico:

A woman from the Boston area who went first mentioned rising gas and food prices, food shortages at her local Whole Foods, and the increasing cost of housing. “It just seems like everything is going up and there’s no end in sight,” she said.

In the other focus group, a Black man from the Houston area talked about trying to subsist on the $12- and $13-per-hour jobs he was being offered. “No one can live off of that, especially with inflation,” he said.

The Hill reported on April 5:

Morgan Jackson, a leading Democratic strategist based in North Carolina, a swing state, said he expects Republicans to come at Democratic candidates hard on border- and immigration-related issues. “Obviously Republicans are going to try to make immigration a top issue. They have tried to do that for the last 10 years, almost every election,” he said.

He said voters are more concerned about “pocketbook issues” such as the strength of the economy, inflation, rising gas prices and the cost of health care.

Migration advocates are cheering the proposed amnesty, which is being pushed by Alejandro Mayorkas.

“There are 1.6 million cases in immigration court,” said a tweet from Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, an advocate at the American Immigration Council. “If we want to clear backlogs, absent Congress, using prosecutorial discretion to dismiss many of these cases is the only way forward.”

During the eight years of the Obama administration, officials dropped roughly 160,000 immigration cases in the courtroom backlog, such as deportation cases.

President Donald Trump’s deputies revived roughly 34,000 of those “administratively closed” cases.

The Mayorkas backlog amnesty is getting low-key treatment from the establishment media. For example, the DHS reporter at the New York Times declined to quote any opponents of the amnesty plan in her report:

It is the latest in a series of efforts by the Biden administration to streamline immigration enforcement in the absence of action from Congress.

An ICE official, authorized by the agency to speak publicly without being identified, said lawyers would review each case before the court to see if it met the administration’s priorities for enforcement: cases that involve a public safety or national security threat, as well as those involving people who recently crossed the border without documentation.

“Our immigration enforcement efforts are focused on those who pose a threat to public safety, the security of our borders and our national security,” Alejandro N. Mayorkas, the homeland security secretary, said in a statement on Monday. “The memo issued today further empowers our enforcement attorneys to focus on these priorities, and it will help clear a longstanding case backlog that has clogged the immigration court system and stood in the way of swiftly removing the greatest threats.”

The artics notes, “The American Immigration Lawyers Association estimates that there are at least 700,000 such cases — about 40 percent of the court backlog.”

The huge backlog in immigration cases has been deliberately created by the federal government, partly because it allows the cartels’ conveyor belt of smuggled labor and returned debt payments to generate more profits from migrant labor sent to the U.S. labor market.

“By the way, there’s a 1.5 million person backlog for dealing with asylum claims,” Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) said on March 30. He continued:

This means that when you are allowed into the country to await an immigration judge looking at your case, there will be anywhere from four to six years before your case is considered. While you’re in the United States, … you’re working, your [illegal migrant] kids are going to school, you’re getting your health care, you’re part of the community. And obviously, a lot of these people don’t show up for their [asylum] court case. Some do, some don’t.

The proposed backlog amnesty is just one of many bureaucratic measures Mayorkas is taking to minimize the enforcement of the nation’s popular immigration laws, despite Congress’ refusal to loosen those laws.

For example, Mayorkas is extending the work-permit “DACA” amnesty for migrants who were brought into the country while children and is refusing to deport illegal migrants unless they commit felony crimes. He is also trying to give pro-migration, low-level officials to the job of awarding asylum rights to migrants at the border — without supervision from immigration judges.

“The Biden Administration is willing to put its open-borders agenda and desire for a future legislative mass amnesty ahead of the safety and security of the American people,” said a statement from Gene Hamilton, the general counsel at America First Legal, a non-profit that is using lawsuits to help enforce the nation’s popular immigration laws. The group noted:

This [agency amnesty] plan has been underway for some time, with advocates at DOJ–Margie O’Herron and Lucas Guttentag, both in the Office of the Deputy Attorney General, as well as EOIR personnel–coordinating efforts across the Administration through regular meetings with the Domestic Policy Council, on identifying ways to remove as many cases from the immigration court dockets as possible. But again, their plans appear to involve finding every way possible to avoid actually completing cases that might result in the issuance of a removal order against an alien.

These plans will now kick into high gear with the issuance of a 17-page memorandum from the Principal Legal Advisor of ICE, Kerry Doyle–a Biden Administration political appointee who formerly spent her entire career advocating for illegal aliens–directing ICE prosecutors to dismiss cases against illegal aliens, administratively close cases, acquiesce to requests from illegal aliens, and even goes so far as to encourage ICE attorneys to not appear in court in other cases.

“I think you’re starting to see a growing trend of the Biden administration recognizing that they’re a one-term proposition and they are just going to go for broke and just completely dismantle the system,” said Law. The goal, he said, is now to ensure “the interior enforcement structure will be so crippled that it will be impossible to rebuild it.”

The federal government tries to hide its economic policy of extracting workers and consumers from poor countries, Law said.

It’s always “Can you do just enough to deceive the public?” …  Any removals that are done by the administration are simply [driven by] bad optics, such as the Haitians congregating under the [Del Rio] bridge, when they just can’t get away from the bad publicity. [Then they] say, “Oh, we’re not totally open borders, we’re using our limited resources to get the worst actors.”

The government’s cooperation with the cartels is hidden behind theatrical enforcement of borders laws and a curtain of legal complexity, he said:

They are partners in this business transaction of importing people and workers into the United States. This is this is a mutually beneficial arrangement where the cartels are being enriched by all these people who are paying the money for the transport, and the Biden administration willingly welcomes them, helps process them, and places them wherever they want to be the inside of the country.

“This is 100 percent a very corrupt business arrangement between the cartels and the Biden ministration,” Law said.

Exclusive — Kevin McCarthy Pledges as Speaker He Will Not Consider Amnesty or Gun Control Legislation

Exclusive — Kevin McCarthy Pledges as Speaker He Will Not Consider Amnesty or Gun Control Legislation

House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview taped in December that the House would not consider any legislation that grants amnesty to illegal aliens if he becomes the speaker next year.

“We know first and foremost one of our greatest strengths is the rule of law, so you have to have an immigration system based upon the rule of law. You have to secure the border. The immigration system is broken and we’re going to fix it. Yes,” McCarthy replied when asked if he could pledge no amnesty would be considered under his leadership.

“Yes,” he reaffirmed when pressed again.

McCarthy’s comments came during the latest On The Hill long-form video special, taped in December at an Eastern Market establishment on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

McCarthy is the next likely speaker of the House should Republicans regain the House majority in November’s midterm elections as widely expected. Making a pledge like this is a huge deal, and a massive blow to open borders advocates who have long hoped for a legislative amnesty to make it through Congress. It is also a sign of the changing direction of the Republican Party even after former President Donald Trump has left office.

Not too long ago, back when former Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) was the speaker, amnesty advocates had an open borders champion in the highest position in the House GOP—and before that, former Speaker John Boehner’s leadership team, which included former GOP Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), openly worked to try to develop amnesty legislation back during former President Barack Obama’s administration.

Now, though, the GOP has shifted big time to a point where such considerations are off the table, and the next likely Speaker has ruled them out entirely.

Of the 14 Senate Republicans who voted for the Gang of Eight amnesty plan in 2013, most are gone: former Sens. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Lamar Alexander (R-TN), Jeff Chiesa (R-NJ), Bob Corker (R-TN), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), John McCain (R-AZ), Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Dean Heller (R-NV), and Mark Kirk (R-IL). Only five, Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Marco Rubio (R-FL), John Hoeven (R-ND), and Lindsey Graham (R-SC), remain in the U.S. Senate.

That bill never came up in the House for a vote, as Boehner never put it on the floor, but that was not always a certainty during that point in time. As Breitbart News reported throughout 2013 and 2014, Boehner kept the door open to considering the amnesty legislation for over a year after its U.S. Senate passage.

And, frankly, I'd ask the president to stop engaging in the blame game." (Photo by Win McNamee/Getty Images)

Later, during the Trump administration, Ryan crafted multiple amnesty plans to bestow legal status on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) illegal alien youths—but those, despite the House holding votes on them, did not end up passing Congress. Ryan wasted months in 2018 pushing amnesty as a “big priority” instead of focusing on the America First agenda that Trump had campaigned on in 2016.

Now, with this pledge from McCarthy, it seems no such legislation will ever be considered if he is the speaker—as such efforts appear to be off the table.

Similarly, McCarthy also pledged that a House GOP majority under his leadership would not consider gun control proposals—another blow to the left.

“One thing I’ve learned is the Second Amendment is one of the most important amendments and you look at all my voting record. Listen, you watch this Congress itself—we believe in the Constitution,” McCarthy said.

Exclusive — Tom Cotton Warns: Democrats Using DACA to Slip Amnesty into Budget

Exclusive — Tom Cotton Warns: Democrats Using DACA to Slip Amnesty into Budget

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire — Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that Democrats are using Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), a program that has provided quasi-amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens since 2012, to leverage large scale amnesty.

“The president cannot simply say he is not gonna enforce an entire category of our laws, so the case was rightly decided,” Cotton said about the DACA program that was canceled on July 16. “There should be no more DACA permits issued period. And what Congress should do is address these problems in a targeted way.”

“But what the Democrats won’t do, it’s just that: They want to use the people who have received the DACA program’s benefits as leverage to get a massive amnesty,” Cotton stated. “So even when President Trump proposed a step that would give those recipients legal status in return for things like eliminating chain migration, finishing the wall, eliminating the diversity lottery, the Democrats said no, because they want a massive amnesty.”

“That’s what they’re trying to do right now in their big budget blow out. They wanna slip amnesty in there. They’re gonna claim it’s just for a few very sympathetic DACA recipients. In reality, it’s gonna be for millions and millions of illegal aliens,” Cotton continued.

When Cotton was asked what he thought of the federal ruling in July that struck down DACA, he responded in total agreement with the ruling.

“The judge is right,” he said. “The case is not about whether DACA is popular or whether Congress should take such action, or whether the recipients of that program’s benefits are sympathetic.” The case is “about whether the President can rewrite laws that Congress has passed and that’s what Barack Obama tried to do in 2012.”

Breitbart News reported July 16 Texas Federal Judge Andrew Hanen ordered Biden’s administration to terminate the DACA program by “blocking the federal government from allowing new applicants, illegal aliens who have not previously been enrolled, onto the program’s rolls.”

As Cotton explained, Senate Democrats are relying on the Senate parliamentarian to sneak amnesty for millions of illegal aliens into their trojan horse infrastructure bill. The bill being written by self-designated socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) will include items such as expanding Medicare, amnesty, global warming initiatives, subsidized racial equity, and environmental justice initiatives.

“That’s going to be up to the parliamentarian — what’s in there. We’ll leave that to her discretion,” Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) said about the amnesty provisions. “And then, based on that, we’ll decide where the appropriate place is for it.

“How far do we want to go? We want to go as far as we can, assuming the parliamentarian allows it to happen,” Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) said about the Democrats’ amnesty scheme.

“It has tremendous budget effects,” Menendez argued. “It will provide revenue to the federal Treasury because of the fees and taxes people will pay. It will also have some costs.”

Federal Judge Deals Heavy Blow to Obama With Latest Ruling

Federal Judge Deals Heavy Blow to Obama With Latest Ruling

judge

Barry Soetoro may think he can get away with ignoring the laws but District Judge Andrew S. Hanen says he “overstepped his executive authority” when he created the Deferred Actions for Childhood Arrivals program. The federal court for the Southern District of Texas just hit Barack Obama’s pampered pet between the eyes, with a sledge hammer. The blow was so hard that DACA dropped dead at the Kenyan’s feet.

Judge becomes Obama’s nightmare

All those illegal alien children dragged across the border against their will, who have been dreaming of amnesty ever since Barack Obama proved the worthlessness of birth certificates, woke up screaming. But, their horrible nightmare is still there.

The liberal dream is over thanks to U.S. District Judge Andrew S. Hanen, a Republican appointee. All the illegals can kiss their “work permits” and protected status goodbye. From now on, “new applications may not be granted.” It’s illegal.

Judge Hanen “sided with Texas and other states in his ruling that President Barack Obama overstepped his executive authority when he created the program in 2012.”

DACA, he writes, is an “illegally implemented program” and “the public interest of the nation is always served by the cessation of a program that was created in violation of law and whose existence violates the law.”

Judge Hanen signed off on the requested permanent injunction which has the effect of canceling and erasing the whole DACA fiasco. He sent it back to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to rethink their strategy.

Imperial Leader Joe Biden and the Palace Minister of Border Insecurity aren’t real happy with the ruling but they have already decided it won’t really matter. The border is wide open now and anyone coming across is given a “Welcome to America Starter Pack” and a lift to the nearest Greyhound station. Travel agents are provided at government expense to help make the arrangements and 24/7 daycare conveniently provided.

An orderly wind down

Conservative officials in the crimson red state of Texas, along with several of their neighbors, had filed the suit, calling for an “orderly wind down” of the program. Since it was unlawful, They shouldn’t be saddled with the expenses “for health-care, education and law enforcement.” The judge agreed with that.

He also wasn’t about to pull the rug out from under anyone who had relied on the illegal program in good faith while it was sanctioned. “Hundreds of thousands of individual DACA recipients, along with their employers, states, and loved ones, have come to rely on the DACA program. Given those interests, it is not equitable for a government program that has engendered such a significant reliance to terminate suddenly.”

The Imperial Palace still thinks they can patch DACA up with duct tape and make it fly again. The judge noted that the palace asserts, “that it is ready and willing to try to remedy the legal defects of the DACA program.”

That all by itself means “equity will not be served by a complete and immediate cessation of DACA.” If it has to die, at least shoot it full of morphine for a while so it’s more comfortable.

The palace has been ordered by the judge to issue an Imperial Decree “within three days” that says, “a United States District Court has found the DACA program to be illegal and that, though applicants may continue to submit applications, the Government is prohibited from granting such applications.”

Everybody knows that the Ministry of Justice will file an appeal. The liberal activists are already turning purple and screaming. “This has a really big impact on hundreds of thousands of lives,” José Muñoz, whines. “If you can renew, you still have the lingering question of: Until when? If you’re a young person who’s applying for the first time, how long do you have to keep waiting?”

DACA Illegal Aliens Demand American Citizenship After Judge Rules Program Unconstitutional

Illegal aliens enrolled and eligible for former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) are demanding amnesty with a path to obtaining American citizenship after a federal judge ruled the program unconstitutional.

Last week, Judge Andrew Hanen ruled that the Obama administration had illegally implemented the DACA program to shield hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens from deportation. The program, Hanen ordered, must be effectively shut down to new, illegal alien applicants.

In response, DACA illegal aliens with the open borders group United We Dream — linked to billionaire George Soros — protested outside of the United States District Courthouse in Houston, Texas, on Monday to demand amnesty.

“It hurts deeply that my home state, the place I’ve grown up in and that I’ve grown to love, is the one leading the charge against me and my right to live and work,” Susie Lujano, a DACA illegal alien said during the protest according to Click 2 Houston.

“Last week’s decision by Judge Hanen to partially end DACA was cruel and vindictive,” Lujano continued.

Since Hanen’s ruling on DACA, open borders activists and key members of President Joe Biden’s administration have said Senate Democrats must use the case as an impetus to sneak an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens into a budget deal through the little-known filibuster-proof reconciliation process.

On Monday, Biden told the media it would be up to the Senate parliamentarian to decide whether or not an amnesty could be passed through reconciliation.

Should Democrats try to sneak an amnesty into a budget via reconciliation, it will be up to Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough to halt the plan on the grounds that the measure is not budget-related but actually alters federal immigration law. MacDonough previously stopped Democrats from increasing the federal minimum wage visa reconciliation.

A DACA amnesty would put more U.S.-born children of illegal aliens — commonly referred to as “anchor babies” — on federal welfare, as Breitbart News reported, while American taxpayers would potentially be left with a $26 billion bill.

Additionally, about one-in-five DACA illegal aliens, after an amnesty, would end up on food stamps, while at least one-in-seven would go on Medicaid.

At the southern border, a DACA amnesty has the potential to trigger a border surge that could triple the number of illegal aliens pouring through the border. Since DACA’s inception, more than 2,100 recipients of the program have been kicked off because they were found to be either criminals or gang members.
