October’s Border Arrests Are The Third Highest In U.S. History

Despite a general lack of concern among Democrats and corporate media, the U.S.-Mexico border continues to spiral out of control, setting new records for illegal border crossings nearly every month now.

In October, more than 230,000 illegal immigrants were arrested along the southwest border, the third-highest monthly total in U.S. history, according to new data released by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Only May and April of this year have been worse than October, with 235,785 and 241,136 arrests, respectively.

Prior to the Biden administration, monthly arrests at the border rarely exceeded 100,000. In October 2020, for example, roughly 45,000 illegal border-crossers were arrested by CBP. But now it has become commonplace. Every month since March, arrests have surpassed 200,000.

For some historical perspective on the October 2022 numbers, consider that in all of 2017 there were only about 303,000 border arrests, total. And just 46,000 in October of that year.

Since President Joe Biden has taken office, more than 5 million illegal immigrants, including so-called “gotaways” whom Border Patrol wasn’t able to arrest, have crossed the southern border. And unlike previous years, there is no sign of a seasonal ebb and flow at the border. At a time of year when crossings are typically slow, we are now seeing a massive surge.

Apologists for President Biden’s border crisis in the corporate press tend to dismiss these shocking figures and attempt to explain them away by claiming the high monthly totals represent the same people crossing illegally, being expelled under Title 42, and attempting to cross again.

What they don’t mention is that border data has always reflected this phenomenon. Of the 230,000 arrests last month, about 19 percent “had at least one prior encounter in the previous 12 months,” according to CBP. This is only a 5 percent rise compared to the average 14 percent reencounter rate from 2014 to 2019.

Despite these outrageous statistics, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas has doubled down on his claim that the border is “secure.”

Asked recently whether he “continue[s] to maintain that the border is secure” by Rep. Dan Bishop, R- North Carolina, Mayorkas responded, “Yes, and we are working day in and day out to enhance its security.”

A Dozen Individuals On Terror Watchlist Tried To Cross Southern Border In August

A Dozen Individuals On Terror Watchlist Tried To Cross Southern Border In August

A Dozen Individuals On Terror Watchlist Tried To Cross Southern Border In August

Report: 78 potential terrorists have been arrested at the border in 2022, but 850,000 migrants ‘got away’

Steve Watson

Twelve individuals who are on the terror watchlist attempted to cross the southern border into the U.S. in August alone, Customs and Border Protection data shows, bringing the total of potential terrorists apprehended to 78 this year.

Fox News reports that the figures equate to triple the prior five years combined.

Reporter Bill Melugin, who has been ever present at the border, notes that CBP sources say there have been half a million ‘gotaways’ this year alone, and over 900,000 since the beginning of last year, begging the question how many of them were on the terror watchlist and are now roaming around the country freely?

The terror watchlist contains the names of individuals “reasonably suspected” of being involved in terrorist activities.

Despite the figures released by CBP, showing record levels of encounters with undocumented migrants, over 200,000 in August alone, Biden officials continue to claim the border is secure.

According to the data from CBP, more than two million people have attempted to cross the border in the 2022 fiscal year so far. That figure equates to a 22 year high.

“Failing communist regimes in Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba are driving a new wave of migration across the Western Hemisphere, including the recent increase in encounters at the southwest U.S. border,” CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus said in a statement on Monday.

A source within CBP has also claimed to have received a Homeland Security report claiming that the Venezuelan government is purposely freeing prisoners, including some convicted of murder, rape, and extortion, knowing that they will attempt to get into the U.S.

Biden Immigration Boss Apologizes After CBP ‘Retweets’ Ex-Trump Adviser Stephen Miller

ZeroHedge

While Vice President Kamala Harris has assured us that the southern US border is ‘secure’ (despite illegal immigration on track for a record-breaking 2 million arrests this fiscal year), some Customs and Border Protection social media kid is probably out of a job for ‘liking’ a tweet by former Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller which was critical of the Biden administration’s immigration policies.

Former White House adviser Stephen Miller
.

“Violent criminals lay waste to our communities undisturbed while the immense power of the state is arrayed against those whose only crime is dissent,” Miller tweeted. “The law has been turned from a shield to protect the innocent into a sword to conquer them.”

In a separate tweet, Miller said that “The media’s greatest power is its ability to frame what is a dire national crisis (eg “cops are racist” summer ’20) and what is not. Biden’s eradication of our border means we are no longer a Republic-he’s ended nearly 250 years of constitutional government. The media is silent.”

Both of which CBP West Texas retweeted.

Where’s the lie?

Liberals promptly melted down – resulting in CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus apologizing for the retweets.

“This must not happen again,” he tweeted Saturday.

We hope whoever tweeted that lands on their feet.

Another Record-Breaking Number Of Illegal Immigrants Caught Trying To Cross The Border In April

Another Record-Breaking Number Of Illegal Immigrants Caught Trying To Cross The Border In April

Another record-breaking number of illegal immigrants were arrested trying to cross the Southwest border last month.

Preliminary data obtained by The Washington Post’s Nick Miroff shows that U.S. Customs and Border Protection made approximately 234,000 arrests of illegal border-crossers in April. That’s up nearly 13,000 from the 221,303 southwest border apprehensions recorded in March, marking back-to-back record-breaking months. Prior to March, the last time southwest border arrests surpassed 220,000 was March of 2000.

Already, border officials have logged at least one million arrests just six months into the 2022 fiscal year, putting them on track to record more than 2 million apprehensions by the end of the fiscal year.

This record-breaking projection should come as no surprise after illegal immigration surged in February 2021 immediately after President Biden took office and repealed a raft of Trump-era border policies. Instead of addressing the sharp rise in illegal immigration on his watch, Biden is preparing to scale back even more border protections, most notably Title 42, a public health order designed to expedite the expulsion of illegal border crossers during the Covid-19 pandemic. The repeal of Title 42 is set to go into effect on May 23, and currently there is no plan in place to handle the inevitably surge in illegal crossings.

The Biden administration’s attempt to revoke the expulsion policy is currently being blocked by a federal judge in Louisiana, but word about the end of Title 42 has already spread among smugglers and other migrant networks. As a result, thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants will trek to the U.S. southern border in coming weeks in hopes of filing asylum claims and getting released into the United States.

According to a new poll from The Federalist and Susquehanna Polling & Research, 52 percent of likely voters disapprove of Biden’s handling of the illegal immigration crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border while only 34 percent approve. Despite Biden’s flailing approval ratings, the president and his border czar Vice President Kamala Harris have largely ignored the growing crisis.

Instead of focusing on the influx of illegal immigration, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has been preoccupied creating a government disinformation board led by Russian collusion hoaxer and Hunter Biden laptop denier Nina Jankowicz.

Border enforcement officials have said that if Title 42 is ended without a replacement mechanism to expel illegal border-crossers, federal law enforcement could be facing up to 18,000 apprehensions per day, and up to 500,000 per month.

More Than 221K Migrants Were Caught Illegally Crossing U.S. Border In March As Biden’s Crisis Escalates

More Than 221K Migrants Were Caught Illegally Crossing U.S. Border In March As Biden’s Crisis Escalates

As peak months for illegal immigration draw near, President Joe Biden’s southern border crisis is escalating. Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants are pouring into the United States each month as the Biden administration works to dismantle Title 42 and create what amounts to an open border.

In March alone, border officials apprehended 221,303 illegal border-crossers, the highest number in 22 years. That’s a more than 33 percent increase from February when officials arrested 165,894 migrants at the border.

Of those March apprehensions, 76 percent were single adults, which is also a 33 percent increase since February. Arrests involving family units in March skyrocketed 42 percent from the previous month, while those involving unaccompanied minors increased 18 percent in the same timeframe.

Seizures of fentanyl also increased 55 percent as fentanyl-induced overdoses, especially in black teens, are on the rise.

Just six months into the 2022 fiscal year, border officials have arrested approximately 1,217,802 illegal border crossers. That puts the U.S. on track to record more than 2 million encounters by the end of the fiscal year in September.

Much like 2.5 million migrants who have already illegally entered and stayed in the U.S since Biden assumed office, most of these new migrants who are caught illegally crossing the border will be allowed to remain without significant consequences.

Others, such as the 300,000 “got-aways” recorded by border officials since October and other undetected migrants, will not be apprehended at all.

In 2021 alone, approximately 47,000 migrants were released into the United States because of Biden’s policies but did not report to Immigration and Customs Enforcement on time or at all, as they were required to do. That same year, federal law enforcement arrested at least 23 suspected terrorists illegally crossing the southern border.

Even more arrests and releases are expected this year as the Biden administration plans to rescind Title 42, the public health order designed to expedite the expulsion of illegal border crossers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Title 42 will be canceled on May 23, and as of now, there is no real plan for how to handle the surge of migrants it will draw to the border.

Republicans and Democrats alike have begged the Biden administration to rein in this border crisis. Instead, the White House appears to be doubling down on its open-border policies while continuing to vilify Border Patrol agents who are charged with maintaining order along the Rio Grande. Even after they were cleared of wrongdoing, Biden still refuses to apologize for amplifying lies about Border Patrol agents whipping migrants who tried to cross the border illegally last fall.

Senate Dem hopefuls Join in breaking with Biden plan to end Title 42 Enforcement

Senate Dem hopefuls Join in breaking with Biden plan to end Title 42 Enforcement

Senate Democrat hopefuls Join Incumbents in breaking with Biden plan to end Title 42 Enforcement

Democrats heading into the midterm have taken note of the unpopularity of the Biden Administration’s latest border policy move.

By Sophie Mann

Democrats running for or considering a 2022 Senate bid are joining Democratic incumbents in calling for the Biden administration to devise a more detailed plan to deactivate the immigration-related federal rule known as Title 42, fearing a surge of illegal migrants at the southern U.S. border.

Politico reported Tuesday that half-a-dozen Senate candidates have broken with the administration decision to end Title 42 next month. The decades-old rule was used by the Trump administration at the start of the pandemic to expel migrants seeking asylum.

“We should not end Title 42 until we have a detailed plan in place,” said John Fetterman, Pennsylvania’s lieutenant governor and the state Democrat party’s expected Senate nominee.

Their public concerns about ending Title 42 on May 23 come amid low job-approval numbers for President Biden, making it difficult for them to support his policies as voters go the polls in primaries and in the General Election in November.

“It is not the right time to lift this policy, especially without a plan in place to deal with a potential influx in migrants,” a spokesperson for North Carolina Senate candidate Cheri Beasley told Politico.

In Georgia, where Sen. Raphael Warnock is competing for a first full-term, a spokesperson recently said the progressive Democrat does “not support lifting Title 42 at this time.”

He is, however, reviewing a bipartisan Senate bill to delay the lifting of the rule, as a record number of immigrants were reported last month to have arrived at the southwest border, amid seasonal migration patterns.

Customs and Border Protection encountered 221,303 migrants along the southwest sector in March. The most recent peak the agency encountered was over 200,000 migrants in July 2021, according to Yahoo News.

Incumbent Democratic senators in swing-seats including Mark Kelly, of Arizona, and Maggie Hassan, of New Hampshire, each have signed the legislation.

Milwaukee Bucks executive Alex Lasry, a Democrat looking to unseat GOP Sen. Ron Johnson, says, “We must have an understanding of a comprehensive plan that will deal with an influx of asylum seekers before any changes to Title 42 are made.”

Wisconsin state Treasurer Sarah Godlewski, another primary contender, concurs.

“There needs to be a plan, and right now it doesn’t look like the administration has one,” she said. “Until there is a plan, for the safety of our citizens and those seeking asylum, they should not lift it.”

Mandela Barnes, the Wisconsin Democrat leading the Senate primary field, has also come out against the repeal of Title 42.

“There’s not a detailed plan in place so that we can keep asylum seekers and people in the country safe,” the progressive candidate recently told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I’d like to see Biden put forward a comprehensive plan that deals with an influx of asylum seekers before we lift Title 42.”

In addition, the Democratic senator in charge of getting party members elected and reelected to the chamber is backing the candidates’ raising of concerns.

Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Sen. Gary Peters said this week that senators and Senate hopefuls “are right to raise questions” about the administration’s move. Peters, of Michigan, also leads the Senate Homeland Security committee, so this issue is entirely within his purview.

Court Brief: Biden Releases 756K Border Crossers, Population Larger than Boston, into American Communities Since Taking Office

Court Brief: Biden Releases 756K Border Crossers, Population Larger than Boston, into American Communities Since Taking Office

President Joe Biden’s administration has released more than 750,000 border crossers and illegal aliens, a foreign population larger than the population of Boston, Massachusetts, into the United States since taking office in January 2021, a court brief confirms.

The brief, dated April 14 and filed in the Supreme Court by Stephen Miller’s America First Legal Foundation, details the extent to which Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has put its Catch and Release network into overdrive in just a little over 12 months.

Specifically, DHS has released more than 756,109 border crossers and illegal aliens into American communities from January 21, 2021, to February 28, 2022, the brief states. This is larger than the resident population of Boston, about equal to the size of Denver, Colorado, and larger than the population of Detroit, Michigan.

Releases by month are as follows:

America First Legal Foundation

America First Legal Foundation

Broken down by agency, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released nearly 545,000 border crossers and illegal aliens while the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released close to 212,000 border crossers and illegal aliens.

At the current rate of deportations, which have been gutted by Biden’s so-called “sanctuary country” orders, it would take ICE agents 14.5 years to deport the border crossers and illegal aliens released into the U.S. interior by Biden’s DHS.

That 756,109 total does not include the 500,000 illegal aliens who successfully crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in 2021 without being apprehended, nor the nearly 123,000 Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) that have been resettled across the U.S. since the beginning of Fiscal Year 2021.

Altogether, the Biden administration is likely to have welcomed nearly 1.4 million border crossers and illegal aliens into American communities since January 2021.

The figure comes as Biden plans to end the Title 42 border control authority first imposed by former President Trump in 2020. The authority has successfully prevented waves of illegal immigration in the name of public health.

Biden officials admit they expect up to half a million border crossers and illegal aliens — the equivalent of Atlanta, Georgia’s, resident population — to arrive at the border every month. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that he expects 30,000 border crossers and illegal aliens every day at the border.

DHS has shaped a plan that would turbocharge the agency’s Catch and Release network. The plan was exclusively reported and published by Breitbart News as it notes the intended goal of ending Title 42 is to create “broadscale release mechanisms” that transform the southern border into a mere checkpoint for foreign nationals before they are released into American communities.

Biden’s Border Chief: Ending Title 42 to Spur ‘Increase’ in Illegal Immigration

Biden’s Border Chief: Ending Title 42 to Spur ‘Increase’ in Illegal Immigration

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Chris Magnus, appointed by President Joe Biden, is conceding that an end of the Title 42 border control is “likely” to spur an “increase” in illegal immigration to the United States.

Late last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that Biden would end Title 42 on May 23. The broad public health authority, which serves as a border control measure, allows federal immigration officials to quickly return border crossers and illegal aliens to their native countries.

Former President Trump invoked Title 42 in 2020, the first time in American history that the order was used at the border to protect Americans from the spread of the Chinese coronavirus.

Magnus, like other Biden officials, conceded in a statement on Monday that ending Title 42 will further strain CBP resources, drive an even higher wave of illegal immigration to the U.S., and ensure that the administration releases more border crossers and illegal aliens into the nation’s interior.

“As a result of the CDC’s termination of its Title 42 public health order, we will likely face an increase in encounters above the current high levels,” Magnus said. “There are a significant number of individuals who were unable to access the asylum system for the past two years, and who may decide that now is the time to come.”

“We are doing everything we can to prepare for this increase, ensure we continue to process people humanely, and impose consequences on those who break the law,” he continued.

About half a million border crossers and illegal aliens are expected to show up at the U.S.-Mexico border every month, according to Biden officials. This is the equivalent of a population the size of Atlanta, Georgia, or Fresno, California arriving at the border over the course of just 28 to 30 days.

Magnus said CBP would, among other measures, expand coordination with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) “to help facilitate short-term-care and transportation” for border crossers and illegal aliens being released into the U.S. interior.

As Breitbart News reported, the Biden administration is hugely ramping up its expansive Catch and Release network where border crossers and illegal aliens are briefly detained before being bused into border towns and flown into American communities with the help of NGOs.

Also on Monday, the states of Missouri, Louisiana, and Arizona filed a lawsuit against Biden for his plans to end Title 42. The lawsuit accuses the administration of passing the costs associated with illegal immigration onto state taxpayers.
