WATCH: Texas Police Apprehend 300 Migrants in Single Group

EAGLE PASS, Texas —Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Troopers and Texas Army National Guard soldiers arrested nearly 300 migrants in a single group on Tuesday. Throughout the day, state authorities arrested more than 400 crossing the Rio Grande locally.

The video shows state authorities escorting migrants from the Rio Grande to a rally point where they are offered water before transport. According to a Texas DPS spokesperson, this was one of two large migrant groups apprehended Tuesday.

The group consisted of mostly single adult males and females although family units with small children were visible. Temperatures in the region have been consistently in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Several migrants are heard asking for water in the footage and others appear to be having trouble walking due to the heat.

The spokesperson told Breitbart Texas the large migrant groups were taken off private property and transported to the Eagle Pass Camino Real Port of Entry, where they would be turned over to Border Patrol. The spokesperson says Mexico will not accept the migrants directly from the Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol troopers as the migrants must first be processed by Border Patrol.

Breitbart Texas observed the migrants staging at the Eagle Pass Camino Real Port of Entry where they awaited transfer to the Border Patrol. Transporting the migrants from points of apprehension to a recognized port of entry along the border is the result of a recent executive order signed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The order is in response to calls from several Texas municipalities urging the Abbott to declare the border crisis an “invasion.”

As reported by Breitbart Texas, the Border Patrol apprehended nearly 500 migrants in one single group earlier on Tuesday.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO — Rep. Mayra Flores: Biden Admin Encourages Illegal Immigration

The policies of President Joe Biden are encouraging people to risk their lives by trying to illegally enter the U.S., said recently elected Congresswoman Mayra Flores from South Texas.

“He is not saying it with words, but he is saying it with actions — with what he is doing,” said Congresswoman Flores in an exclusive interview. “He is telling the people to practically come, bring everyone, take the risk, and endanger your children.”

Flores recently granted Breitbart News an interview where she spoke about the current issues facing her district in South Texas, particularly the immigration crisis. According to Flores, mismanagement by the Biden Administration at the border has worsened while Democrat politicians dismiss the challenges at hand.

“It’s not fair, it’s not fair for the Democratic Party to take advantage, because they are taking advantage of the needs of the migrants,” she said.

Apprehensions at the border have jumped dramatically since the start of the Biden Administration, leading to almost daily record-breaking figures. Messaging by the administration, plus moves like ending Title 42 removals, have overwhelmed the detention and enforcement capabilities of the Department of Homeland Security.

“In truth, there are some very bad people crossing our border,” Flores said. “While our agents on the border are tied up with children and women, there are terrorists coming in.”

The congresswoman was referring to reports claiming that in May, 15 individuals apprehended were on a terrorist watch list while a total of 50 had been apprehended since October 2021.

“Things have changed. I believe that we need to secure our border and to help good people come here legally,” Flores said.

‘Defund the Cartels’ — Rep. Mayra Flores Talks Border Crisis in Exclusive Interview

‘Defund the Cartels’ — Rep. Mayra Flores Talks Border Crisis in Exclusive Interview

A newly-elected Texas Congresswoman is calling for the defunding of the Mexican cartels effectively in control of the U.S. southwestern border.

“We need to defund the cartels,” U.S. Congresswoman Mayra Flores said during an exclusive interview in Spanish with Breitbart News, where she talked about how criminal organizations from Mexico are the only ones benefiting from the current border crisis.

Flores made history in June when she became the first Mexican-born female to be elected to the House of Representatives. She flipped Texas Congressional District 34, which was historically a Democrat stronghold.

“Unfortunately, we have a border that is in control of criminal organizations,” Flores said, referring to the operational control along the border by the Gulf Cartel and the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas. Currently, the Gulf Cartel operates one of the most active human and drug trafficking corridors in Flores’s district. “It is a sad reality, but no one can cross the border into this country without having to pay thousands of dollars to criminal organizations.”

The issue which has been largely ignored by most politicians in Washington and helped create a cycle of violence and abuse where women and children suffer unspeakable horrors at the hands of cartel-connected smugglers, she said.

In many cases, victims suffer sexual and physical abuse. In other instances, victims are kidnapped and held for ransom. “It is something that is happening that in reality, it embarrasses me that it is happening in this country because we are better than that,” Flores added.

According to Flores, securing the border and creating a streamlined process for legal immigration would help to defund cartels.

“I believe that we need to secure our border and to help good people come here legally,” she said. “Where there is a safe process also where people can come without having to go through, like I said before, without having to go through hell.”

47 Migrants Found Dead in Abandoned Trailer in Texas Smuggling Incident

Police near San Antonio report that 47 migrants are dead and at least 18 others were transported to local hospitals after being locked inside a tractor-trailer. Officials found the tractor-trailer on the southwest side of San Antonio on a back road near Interstate 35. Police say the driver may have been involved in a human smuggling incident.

A senior law enforcement source on the scene told Breitbart Texas that 47 migrants were declared dead on the scene or at area hospitals and at least 18 others were taken to area hospitals. A source on the scene says they have a person of interest in custody. That person was also reportedly transported to an area hospital. At least 60 migrants were packed inside the trailer.

Due to the circumstances, ICE Homeland Security Investigations special agents were called in and are taking charge of the investigation. Border Patrol agents are also reported to be on the scene.

The law enforcement source told Breitbart the person of interest may have attempted to blend in with the migrants and was transported to a hospital.

At this time, it is not known how law enforcement found the trailer containing the dead migrants. Information about the deceased and injured migrants is also not available.

Earlier this month, local police agents found two migrants dead in a tractor-trailer loaded with 111 migrants, Breitbart Texas reported. La Salle County Sheriff’s deputies responded to frantic 911 calls from migrants being smuggled in a semi-tractor trailer near Encinal, Texas, on Friday. Dispatchers could hear screams from migrants trapped inside the closed trailer traveling north and away from the border on Interstate 35. When the vehicle was encountered, two migrants were dead and 111 were apprehended after an exhaustive search.

Breitbart Texas reached out to HSI officials for additional information. A response was not available at press time. Officials did say they would be sending a statement shortly. This article will be updated at that time.

Nearly five years ago, San Antonio police found another tractor-trailer where eight migrants were dead and 20 others were listed in critical or serious condition.

Numbers of Unaccompanied Migrant Children Rising at U.S.-Mexico Border

Biden administration officials report a concerning increase in the number of unaccompanied migrant children being apprehended after crossing the southwest border with Mexico. Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 14,000 unaccompanied minors in May. The numbers continue to rise in June.

Border Patrol agents working the southwest border with Mexico apprehended 14,442 unaccompanied migrant children during the month of May, according to a recently released Southwest Land Border Migration Report. This represents an increase of nearly 22 percent over the previous month and the largest month since July 2021.

Reports from the Departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services reviewed by Breitbart Texas show the numbers are continuing to increase in June. On June 16, Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 500 unaccompanied migrant children bringing the 30-day running average to 407 per day. The number of children held in HHS custody stands at 10,167.

After peaking in July 2021 at 18,954, the number of unaccompanied children apprehended at the border fell to 8,751 in January. By March, the number jumped back up to 14,138 and nearly hit 15,000 in May.

From October 1, 2021, to May 31, 2022, Border Patrol agents apprehended 98,654 unaccompanied children. This is a jump of nearly 26 percent over the same period in FY21.

A dramatic shift in migrant demographics took place in January 2021 when President Joe Biden took office and changed many of the immigration and border security policies of the Trump administration. In December 2020, President Trump’s last full month in office, agents apprehended less than 5,000 migrant children traveling without a parent or guardian. By February 28, President Biden’s first full month in office, that number jumped to more than 9,400. It doubled the next month to nearly 19,000.

Since February 2021, the Biden administration reported the apprehension of more than 220,000 unaccompanied children — an average of nearly 14,000 per month.

REPORT: Mexico Allows 10K Migrant Caravan to Head for U.S. Border

REPORT: Mexico Allows 10K Migrant Caravan to Head for U.S. Border

Mexican police and immigration officials allowed a nearly 10,000-strong migrant caravan to cross the country’s southern border and head to the United States, an organizer told Fox News. The group departed without government resistance from Tapachula in southern Mexico on Monday.

A group of approximately 9,500 migrants crossed the border between Guatemala and Mexico with plans to head to the United States, an organizer of the group told Fox News. The group consists mainly of migrants from Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

“We consider we are around 9,500, it measures 51/2 km from the start to the end, people keep on joining, in the first police check there were approx 100-150 national guard, INM, state police and let us through freely,” caravan’s organizer Luis Villagran told Fox News.

The migrants are counting on President Joe Biden to cancel the Title 42 coronavirus protection protocol put in place during the Trump administration.

“He promised the Haitian community he will help them,” migrants told Fox News on Friday. “He will recall Title 42. He will help us have real asylum.”

“Now we need him to keep his promise,” a Haitian migrant stated.

However, some migrants clearly are coming for economic opportunity and not for a valid asylum claim.

One migrant, Venezuelan Liozanys Comeja, left her country five years ago and resides safely in Colombia, the Guardian reported. She left Colombia recently in a quest to head to the United States “due to the rising cost of living,” the news outlet stated.

The group could become the largest caravan to head for the U.S.-Mexico Border as it is expected to grow from its current census of about 10,000 to as many as 15,000 before it reaches its destination. The group is expected to follow the “coastal route” which would bring many of the migrants to Texas.

The Guardian report reveals the changing level of cooperation between the Government of Mexico and caravan organizers. The article states:

Earlier this month, the Mexican National Migration Institute (INM), wrote to Villagrán, expressing sympathy for the caravan’s members and pledging to help the most vulnerable among them. The letter also acknowledges that the caravan is a result of the stunning tsunami of migration from nearly every country in the Americas to the United States in the past few years, attributing this migration to elevated rates of violence and economic instability in the continent.

It is a striking response from the leaders of a bureaucracy that migrants often describe as routinely unhelpful and even deliberately dysfunctional.

But the letter also marks the first time the Mexican government has responded to a caravan before its departure, and may signal a shift in how the authorities respond to large groups of migrants.

Breitbart Texas reached out to the Office of the Texas Governor to ascertain what response the State will take in dealing with Mexico and the migrant caravan. Governor Abbott’s spokesperson, Renae Eze replied:

Texas has and continues ramping up every available strategy and resource in response to President Biden’s ongoing border crisis to protect our state and our nation. With our ongoing relationships with Mexican border governors, Texas stands ready to work across the border to stop the latest migrant caravan drawn by President Biden’s open border policies. Thanks to Governor Abbott negotiating historic agreements with Mexican border governors, Texas has already begun and continues conducting joint exercises with Texas and Mexican law enforcement in Tamaulipas, equipping Coahuila with razor wire to secure their side of the border, and shutting down access to popular gathering locations like the Del Rio bridge.

And since Governor Abbott launched Operation Lone Star last year, over 10,000 National Guard soldiers and DPS troopers have been deployed to the border and apprehended over 260,000 migrants, arrested over 16,000 criminals, turned back over 17,000 illegal immigrants, and seized over 347 million deadly doses of fentanyl. Governor Abbott has also directed innovative strategies no state or governor in U.S. history has ever done to secure our nation’s borders, including building our own border wall, busing migrants to our nation’s capital, and activating the Joint Border Security Operations Center. While President Biden and Congress refuse to act and do their jobs, Texas continues stepping up to secure our border and protect Texans and Americans across the country.

The Biden Administration is in the process of appealing a court order stopping the administration from canceling the Title 42 protocol. In May, open border activists lobbied the administration to bring Title 42 to an end, Breitbart reported.

A combination of official and unofficial numbers from U.S. Customs and Border Protection sources show that more than 600,000 migrants crossed the U.S. border from Mexico since March 1. Ending Title 42 could bring approximately 18,000 illegal border crossers per day to the border, according to a DHS report reviewed by Breitbart.

EXCLUSIVE: Many Border Patrol Agents, Cops Who Responded to Uvalde School Shooting Uninvited from Biden Event

Biden administration officials uninvited many of the Border Patrol agents and other law enforcement officers who responded to the Robb Elementary School shooting from a meeting with the president scheduled for Sunday in Uvalde. Despite the event being planned for a large open-space facility, administration officials cited space as a reason for the retracted invitations.

Law Enforcement officers who responded to the Uvalde school shooting at Robb Elementary School on Tuesday morning received an invitation to meet with President Biden during his planned visit to Uvalde on Sunday afternoon. According to a senior Customs and Border Protection source, the officers received the invitation late last week. Many had accepted and were scheduled to attend the private address from the president. Most are now being informed they are no longer invited.

The meeting, specifically to address the law enforcement officers who responded to the shooting is part of President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden’s visit to Uvalde to address the families of the victims of last week’s school shooting at Robb Elementary.

Although the meeting is planned at a location that can accommodate hundreds, more than 90% of the Border Patrol agents who were invited are now being told time and space are limited and they cannot attend. More than 80 Border Patrol agents, including several members of the Border Patrol’s BORTAC special response team involved in the response to the school shooting, received the invitation. Late Saturday evening, the Border Patrol was notified the President could only meet with 7 of the more than 80 agents who responded to the shooting.

In addition to Border Patrol BORTAC tactical unit members who killed the shooter after entering the classroom, others assisted with removing students and teachers from harm’s way. They also provided emergency medical attention to the survivors of the brutal attack. The source says the limitations likely apply to other large law enforcement agencies such as the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol which participated in the active shooter response as well.

The source says deciding which officers will be allowed to attend on such short notice will be difficult.

“These agents are still traumatized by the incident; the venue is large, and they are not going to buy this excuse,” the source told Breitbart Texas.

The source says mid-level managers from the Border Patrol were tasked to decide who will attend and feels those left out will assume their role in the event was unimportant. “It appears now as if this planned meeting was nothing more than a photo opportunity with the law enforcement community,” the source says.

EXCLUSIVE: Uvalde Police Officers Receiving Death Threats After Texas School Shooting

EXCLUSIVE: Uvalde Police Officers Receiving Death Threats After Texas School Shooting

Multiple law enforcement sources from separate agencies tell Breitbart Texas that Uvalde-area police officers are receiving death threats following the Robb Elementary School shooting that left 21 people dead.

Officers from separate, highly-placed law enforcement agencies report that officers are receiving death threats as news media stoke the narrative that first responders waited too long to engage the Robb Elementary School shooter. Police continue the process of investigating and reporting the timeline of events throughout the campus.

In the absence of a formal release of all the details, many media outlets may be fueling the threats, one source argues.

The threats put officers and their families’ lives at risk, one source told Breitbart. The threats also distract officers from their investigative and typical duties.

Several law enforcement officers who responded to the shooting were parents of students at the school, other sources stated. One officer’s child did not survive while the parent was unable to make entry.

“Our officers had their own children in the building — one of whom was killed,” a local law enforcement official stated. “We wanted to end this as badly as anyone else. To think that we would stand around and let children die by choice is unconscionable for our officers right now during their time of mourning.”

One senior law enforcement source in Uvalde confirmed that the threats have been received by multiple law enforcement agencies who participated in the response to the shooting.

“The investigation has not been completed and there are many facts that have not been released that will provide clarification to questions the community may have, the guessing by uninvolved parties is frustrating and may be prompting these threats,” one law enforcement source told Breitbart Texas.

Multiple law enforcement sources revealed to Breitbart Texas that part of the delay in stopping the barricaded elementary school shooter hinged on a deadly mix of the shooter’s defensive tactics and the lack of needed tactical gear. Specifically, officers lacked the ballistic shield needed to enter the classroom with the barricaded shooter. Attempting to breach the door without a ballistic shield would have resulted in certain death for the officers and provides the shooter with the officers’ weapons and ammunition. There is also the possibility that the shooter could have taken communications gear off of the officers’ bodies, thereby giving the shooter the ability to listen in real time on police response plans.

Even with the shield, as reported by Breitbart Texas, one of the Border Patrol agents who rushed the shooter still suffered a grazing gunshot wound to the head. The law enforcement team did not wait for personal body armor before breaching.

“If the subject can effectively take out an officer, he gains one more weapon, more loaded magazines, and law enforcement communications are instantly compromised allowing the suspect to know what the next plan of attack is,” one source explained.
