Corporate Media Can Stomp And Cry All It Wants, Its Special Twitter Privileges Are Ending

Corporate Media Can Stomp And Cry All It Wants, Its Special Twitter Privileges Are Ending

Before Elon Musk bought Twitter, corporate journalists freely persecuted their political enemies by posting their identities and locations to enable in-person harassment, but not anymore. This week, Musk decided he’s no longer allowing anyone, including journalists, to jeopardize people’s safety via Twitter, and he began temporarily suspending the accounts of offending members of the press.

“Everyone’s going to be treated the same. You’re not special because you’re a journalist,” Musk wrote in a Twitter post.

The crackdown on doxxing is personal for Twitter’s CEO. On Wednesday, Musk reported that his 2-year-old son named “X” was followed by a “crazy stalker” who had mistaken X for Musk. According to Musk, the stalker blocked the car driving his son and “climbed onto the hood.” The incident motivated Musk to suspend several high-profile journalists guilty of doxxing.

This caused the corporate media to fly into hysterics. “Elon Musk censors the press,” said one CNN headline.” “[U]nprecedented,” stated the flabbergasted Axios. “Twitter suspends journalists who wrote about owner Elon Musk,” alleged The Associated Press. “Musk has begun banning journalists who have criticized him on Twitter,” whined Washington Post TikTok reporter Taylor Lorenz.

All this outrage is performative. Firstly, Musk made it clear why the journalists are suspended, and it’s not because they “criticized” him, as Lorenz said. “Criticizing me all day long is totally fine, but doxxing my real-time location and endangering my family is not,” wrote Musk.

Secondly, the propaganda press doesn’t care about freedom of the press or free speech. They cheer on and instigate the de-platforming of competing journalists and news organizations. The only thing the media cares about is losing its monopoly on digital discourse and the special treatment it received from pre-Musk Twitter staff.

Before Musk, the corporate media enjoyed gross privileges awarded to them by their ideological allies at Twitter. When Lorenz outed the identity of the formerly anonymous woman who runs the “Libs of TikTok” Twitter account, Lorenz was never disciplined. As the “The Twitter Files” reveal, if Twitter staff did try to sanction left-wing users for violating Twitter rules, senior executives at the company would swoop in behind the scenes and protect them.

Meanwhile, countless conservative journalists were subject to random suspensions, locked accounts, and bans for harassment-free thought crimes. The Federalist’s Senior Editor John Davidson continues to be locked out of his Twitter account because in March he tweeted the truth: Rachel Levine, the U.S. assistant secretary for health, is a man. Levine, a transgender male, is indeed a man and no amount of makeup or surgery will change that, yet Twitter penalized Davidson for promoting “hate speech.” It still is penalizing him.

The Federalist’s CEO and co-founder Sean Davis was also targeted by pre-Musk Twitter and his account is still subject to a shadowban today. That means Davis’s posts are reduced in their ability to reach people. The reason for the shadowban remains unclear, but it’s fair to assume the censorship was politically motivated. The “Twitter Files” revealed how pre-Musk Twitter used shadowbanning to punish ideological dissenters against Twitter’s own terms of use.

Former President Donald Trump was perhaps Twitter’s most high-profile ban. While he was still in office, Twitter nuked Trump’s account. The “Twitter Files” show Twitter moderators admitted at the time of his banning that Trump had not violated any terms of service. The “Twitter Files” also revealed that the very real Hunter Biden laptop story was banished from the app even though it didn’t violate any of Twitter’s stated rules, either.

Unlike conservatives who were political targets of Twitter’s pre-Musk censorship regime, journalists suspended for doxxing are instigating real, physical harm. People outed and targeted by corporate media for expressing conservative views have been fired, had their businesses harassed and ruined, and been targeted for violence. Unlike the shadowbanning of Davis, the banishment of Trump, and the nuking of the Hunter Biden laptop story, doxxing journalists know exactly what Twitter rule they violated. Musk told them in plain words.

The leftist media complex is in a frenzy because it lost some privileges after Elon took over. “Handled,” one Twitter employee wrote to a “connected actor” who requested the deletion of disliked tweets, according to the “Twitter Files.”

That kind of special treatment is over. Twitter’s “rules for thee, but not for me” policy is gone, and the propaganda press is going to have to get used to it.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Under Investigation by House Ethics Committee

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Under Investigation by House Ethics Committee

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee, according to a statement the Committee released on Wednesday.

The House Ethics Committee announced that the Office of Congressional Ethics forwarded an inquiry to the Ethics Committee on June 23, 2022, which suggests the Office believes Ocasio-Cortez violated the House Ethics rules.

The Committee’s statement said Acting Chairwoman Susan Wild (D-PA) and Acting Ranking Member Michael Guest (R-MI) “jointly decided to extend the matter regarding Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, which was transmitted to the Committee by the Office of Congressional Ethics on June 23, 2022.”

“The Committee notes that the mere fact of a referral or an extension, and the mandatory disclosure of such an extension and the name of the subject of the matter, does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the Committee,” the statement continued.

The Committee said it will “announce its course of action in this matter following its organizational meeting and adoption of Committee Rules in the 118th Congress.”

It was unclear from the Committee’s statement what the focus of the investigation into Ocasio-Cortez was. However, multiple ethics watchdog organizations filed complaints against Ocasio-Cortez after the congresswoman attended the Met Gala last year.

Those ethics groups argued Ocasio-Cortez received “an impermissible gift” to attend 2021’s Met Gala, which she did not pay to attend, despite tickets reportedly ranging from $35,000 to $50,000.

Under House Ethics rules, members of Congress are not allowed to accept gifts, except if they fall under certain exemptions like “widely attended events” or charity functions.

The American Accountability Foundation wrote in a September 2021 complaint against Ocasio-Cortez:

Specifically, we believe Representative Ocasio-Cortez has violated clause 5 of Rule XXV of the Rules of the House of Representatives (commonly known as the Gift Rule) by accepting admission to the Met Gala, an event whose per seat costs is reported to range from $35,000 to $50,000, without having a permissible exemption to allow the acceptance of the lavish gift.

Further, the ethics watchdog Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) also called for an ethics review regarding Ocasio-Cortez’s attendance at the Met Gala.

FACT executive director Kendra Arnold said at the time:

The gift rule for members of Congress is very clear and is in place for good reason. Members simply cannot accept anything of value that isn’t on the short list of permitted items. This is a case where the member’s own words should trigger an investigation—not only did she state that she did not pay for an item, she also implied that she was given the ticket because of her’ responsibilities in overseeing’ the gift-giver. This entire situation is exactly what the House’s gift rule is designed to prevent.

However, the congresswoman’s office is “confident” the Ethics Committee will dismiss the investigation.

“The Congresswoman has always taken ethics incredibly seriously, refusing any donations from lobbyists, corporations, or other special interests,” Ocasio-Cortez Spokeswoman Lauren Hitt told Business Insider. “We are confident that this matter will be dismissed.”

Who Is Hakeem Jeffries, Nancy Pelosi’s Likely Replacement As Democrat Leader?

Who Is Hakeem Jeffries, Nancy Pelosi’s Likely Replacement As Democrat Leader?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the end of her tenure in congressional leadership Thursday after Republicans officially took the lower chamber following last week’s midterm elections.

“With great confidence in our caucus, I will not seek re-election to Democratic leadership in the next Congress,” Pelosi said on the House floor. “For me, the hour has come for a new generation to lead the Democratic caucus that I so deeply respect.”

Pelosi’s remarks were quickly followed by a similar announcement from Democrat Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, who will also stay in Congress but step down from leadership. The pair of retirements give New York Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, now the chair of the House Democrat Caucus, a clear path to cement control over the minority in the lower chamber. For a party obsessed with “firsts,” Jeffries would follow Pelosi’s rule as the first woman speaker to become the first black lawmaker leading the party in either the House or Senate.

Jeffries, 52, has served in the House since his first congressional election in 2012. While representing a district near-adjacent to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the New York City area, Jeffries has been no ally of the left-wing newcomer and her affiliated insurgent group, Justice Democrats. As the fifth-ranking Democrat in the House, Jeffries orchestrated efforts to protect incumbents from the leftist primaries launched by the Ocasio-Cortez wing of the party.

“It’s important to support effective legislators for delivering for the American people in partnership with the Biden administration,” Jeffries said in February.

While an establishment foe of AOC and the Justice Democrats, Jeffries remains a conventional partisan who has embraced just about every cooked-up conspiracy the Democratic party could muster against former President Donald Trump and other Republicans. Jeffries is no moderate but instead offers a picturesque reflection of where the Democratic Party has shifted over the course of the last decade, steeped in identity politics and Russiagate hysteria.

In 2017, Jeffries smeared Trump’s supporters as racist on the floor of the lower chamber.

“We do know that every racist in America voted for Donald Trump,” Jeffries said. “That’s a problem.”

Jeffries also called Trump “the ‘Grand Wizard’ of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue” in 2019 and defended his comments on CNN, calling his language “colorful.”

Just this year, Jeffries decried the Senate filibuster as “dripping in racist history, in defense of slavery and Jim Crow.”

When not engaged in the divisiveness of identity politics, Jeffries is taking the lead on Democrats’ information operations to undermine Republicans with deep state investigations. Jeffries was an impeachment manager in Trump’s first trial before the Senate when Democrats accused the president of improperly exploiting U.S. military aid to extract political favors. In February 2020, Trump was acquitted of Democrats’ charges alleging his participating in a quid pro quo demanding the Ukrainian government investigate its role in the creation of the Russia-collusion hoax that did irreparable harm to the United States. That investigation would inevitably center around Hunter Biden, son of now-President Joe Biden, who raked in tens of thousands of dollars in excess compensation for a seat on the board of a Ukrainian energy company despite no prior industry experience.

Later reflecting on this trial in an interview for the Washington Post, as the Democrats prepared to impeach Trump once more over the Jan 6. Capitol riot, Jeffries refused to concede their case against the outgoing president.

“We believed that we did present a mountain of evidence and clear and convincing evidence that Donald Trump corruptly abused his power by pressuring a foreign government, Ukraine, to target an American citizen, Joe Biden, as part of then-President Trump’s efforts to interfere with the 2020 election,” Jeffries said.

But the Ukrainian impeachment saga was merely the follow-up to the Democrats’ initial plans to indict President Trump as a Russian agent. Jeffries participated in the witch hunt and mocked congressional oversight of the FBI’s collusion hoax in 2018 as “a three-ring circus.”

“Let’s stop wasting taxpayer dollars and get back to the business of the American people,” Jeffries admonished colleagues in comments highlighted by the Washington Post.

During an interview with CNN in 2019, Jeffries amplified claims the Trump campaign captured the White House in cahoots with Kremlin leadership.

“With every passing day, every passing week, every passing month,” Jeffries said, “the circumstances around the 2016 campaign and the possible conspiracy that seems like it may have existed between Russian spies and some high level members of the Trump campaign to sell out our democracy grows stronger.”

“That is deeply troubling for the republic, for the democracy and for a significant number of American people,” the congressman added.

No one person, of course, let alone Trump himself, was found guilty of Russian collusion after a more than two-year special counsel investigation run entirely by Democrats with unlimited resources. Jeffries still assigned Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell the moniker “Moscow Mitch” while trying to frame Republicans as Kremlin allies.

10 Even More Awesome Places To Send Illegal Immigrants (Besides Deporting Them)

10 Even More Awesome Places To Send Illegal Immigrants (Besides Deporting Them)

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis ignited a firestorm of left-wing hysteria Wednesday when his state gave 50 migrants a free flight to the glitzy New England destination of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

“Residents of Martha’s Vineyard overwhelmingly support illegal immigration and call for more diversiry. Governor DeSantis was kind enough to grant their wishes,” tweeted the governor’s spokeswoman Christina Pushaw Thursday.

Proponents of unlimited immigration, however, were not amused.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes called the migrant flights “deeply deeply sick and dehumanizing” as if the 50 individuals were shipped to a concentration camp. CNN actually compared the flights to one of the nation’s most glamorous vacation spots to the Nazi Holocaust. The Washington Post’s Max Boot, who last month called Martha’s Vineyard “the real America,” condemned the move as “beneath contempt” for the Florida governor.

The majority-white, wealthy liberal enclave where median home sales are north of $1.3 million and where 150,000 tourists descend every summer should, however, be well-equipped to absorb 50 new migrants into its community. After all, rich white liberals have spent the better half of the last decade lecturing Americans to bring home “your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” and welcome unchecked illegal migration.

DeSantis joins Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott who sent migrants to Chicago, New York, and Washington D.C. to make clear every town is a border town as tens of thousands of migrants have overwhelmed communities along the Rio Grande for years. While many of the more than half a million “gotaways” who escape detention at the border often end up in places such as Chicago and New York anyway, they don’t usually find themselves on the gold-plated doorsteps of left-wing communities shocked to find new neighbors. DeSantis merely expedited the migrants’ travel and, in the process, began to force liberals who otherwise ignore the crisis at the border to reckon with what communities are faced with across the country, particularly in Texas.

Below are 10 other destinations Abbott and DeSantis might consider for the next round of free transit. Maybe once the border crisis ends up on the front doors of the Democrats’ donors, the Biden administration will acknowledge the problem.

1. Beverly Hills

Weezer’s 2005 ad for Beverly Hills makes the California hot spot out to be a dream destination for the empty-handed.

The best part is, if migrants want to commit crimes as many have in Texas, they can! Last month, local election officials refused to place a recall on the ballot for L.A.’s soft-on-crime top prosecutor, claiming nearly 200,000 petition signatures were invalid. District Attorney George Gascon will serve through 2024.

2. Mark Zuckerberg’s House

Migrants who don’t fall in love with Beverly Hills can move up the coast to Palo Alto and camp out in front of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s house. Homeless tent cities in California are proof of love and compassion, after all.

3. Gavin Newsom’s Governor’s Mansion

While campaigning against his own recall last year, California Gov. Gavin Newsom complained his opponents were really just upset by the “browning of California,” despite the referendum petitions making no mention of race.

Newsom, then, might welcome his street looking more similar to the downtown city centers of Los Angeles and San Francisco complete with homeless encampments.

4. Chicago’s Hyde Park

On Wednesday, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker declared a disaster over just more than 500 migrants arriving in the city by bus courtesy of Abbott’s Operation Lone Star. In contrast, Texas residents welcome about 140 times that number of immigrants on a daily basis. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot joined Pritzker to plead for federal assistance.

Since Abbott is already sending migrants to Chicago, why not put them on the doorsteps of the city’s wealthy liberal donors, applying pressure to national Democrats?

5. The Hamptons

Median property sales in the East Hamptons jumped to more than $3.1 million in the first quarter of this year where the median income is more than 246 percent higher than the national median. In other words, the East Hamptons are a prime location to send another few dozen migrants seeking access to resources stretched too thin on the southern border while grabbing attention from the area’s Democratic donor class.

6. AOC’s New York District Office

District congressional offices take the lead on constituent services where residents can get help navigating the federal bureaucracy. Abbott should inform migrants they can sign up for benefits inside Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s offices in the Bronx or Jackson Heights as new constituents.

7. Nantucket

Nantucket Island is a vacation spot similar to Martha’s Vineyard that’s just a 38-mile ferry ride from where Gov. DeSantis dropped off 50 migrants. The island is also where President Joe Biden spends his Thanksgiving.

8. Biden’s Delaware Beach House

Gov. Abbott has already sent busloads of migrants to the nation’s capital this summer. President Biden, however, spent more than 150 days at his Delaware beach house since his inauguration, escaping the sight of migrants in Washington D.C. Abbott should fix that, and grab the president’s attention by sending busses to Delaware.

9. Georgetown

Washington D.C.’s Georgetown neighborhood is home to some of the most connected longtime power players in national politics. It’s also home to major Democrat donors living in an isolated bubble within the capital, not only disconnected from the district’s homelessness problem but also more than 1,700 miles away from the southern border. It’s time Abbott and DeSantis bring the border to them.

10. Chris Hayes’s House

In Hayes’s own words, it would be “deeply sick and dehumanizing” to turn away 50 migrants who showed up on his doorstep. It would also be a prime example of “genuine hypocrisy from educated, affluent liberals who live in large metro areas” to be unwilling to live alongside immigrants.

Trump Trolls Ocasio-Cortez in Fiery Sarcastic Endorsement

Trump Trolls Ocasio-Cortez in Fiery Sarcastic Endorsement

Former President Trump continued his troll game on Thursday when he sarcastically endorsed socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

The former president said:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who some call AOC for short, is again running for Congress, NY-14, and I am thrilled to give her my Endorsement. Even though every one of her ideas, such as the Green New Deal, are terrible and would be a disaster for America, AOC is a great addition to Congress.

Referencing the popular “Blonde AOC” memes, the former president then advised the congresswoman to dye her hair a lighter shade.

“We need a few more AOCs in Congress, if we’re being completely honest. Many people are saying that she should consider going blonde, and after seeing that picture, I have to agree. Take it from me, Alexandria, blondes have more fun!” he concluded.

The former president specifically calling Ocasio-Cortez by her nickname, AOC, aimed to mock a previous statement she made in 2020, implying that Republicans are sexist if they do not call her by her full name:

I wonder if Republicans understand how much they advertise their disrespect of women in debates when they consistently call women members of Congress by nicknames or first names while using titles & last names when referring to men of = stature. Women notice. It conveys a lot.

AOC is a name given to me by community & the people. Y’all can call me AOC. Government colleagues referring to each other in a public or professional context (aka who don’t know me like that) should refer to their peers as ‘Congresswoman,’ ‘Representative,’ etc. Basic respect 101.

Earlier this week, Trump trolled the Democrats in New York by endorsing candidates in the party’s primary.

“Lawyer Dan Goldman is running for Congress, NY-10, and it is my great honor to Strongly Endorse him,” Trump began. “I do this not because of the fact that he headed up the Impeachment Committee and lost, but because he was honorable, fair, and highly intelligent.”

“While it was my honor to beat him, and beat him badly, Dan Goldman has a wonderful future ahead,” the former president added. “He will be very compassionate and compromising to those within the Republican Party, and will do everything possible to make sure they have a fair chance at winning against the Radical Left Democrats, who he knows are destroying our Country.”

Even AOC Is Doing A Better Job Questioning Capitol Security Features Than The Theatrical J6 Committee

Even AOC Is Doing A Better Job Questioning Capitol Security Features Than The Theatrical J6 Committee

New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has some concerns about Capitol security. Too bad her colleagues on a committee to investigate Capitol security have no interest in probing Capitol security.

On Wednesday, the congresswoman was verbally sexually harassed by commentator Alex Stein who stood outside the Capitol building and hurled provocative comments at the 32-year-old lawmaker. Stein filmed himself as if being a dirtbag would be something to brag about.

“Here’s AOC, my favorite big booty Latina,” said Stein. “I love you AOC, you’re my favorite. She wants to kill babies but she’s still beautiful, you look very beautiful in that dress. You look very sexy.”

Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t amused.

“I was actually walking over to deck him because if no one will protect us then I’ll do it myself,” she wrote to her more than 13 million followers on Twitter where she published the video.

In a follow-up interview with Punchbowl News on Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez shared more words on Capitol security, complaining her office had to call Capitol Police “five times in order to get them to ask for this person’s information.” The incident, she said, only contributes to her feeling unsafe.

“Ocasio-Cortez also complained that – in her view – some of the security lapses present during the Jan. 6 insurrection still haven’t been fixed,” Punchbowl reported, quoting the representative as saying “Every day we see these huge gaping holes. … They and many of these people were sassing our office back, asking us why we want this information. This is not about us attacking this information. This is about mitigating threats.”

If only there were a Select Committee established in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 riot to investigate the security lapses that literally opened the door to the turmoil. Ocasio-Cortez has some thoughts about that too:

On Tuesday, Democrats on the Jan. 6 Committee wrapped up their seventh hearing in a series of summer show trials to smear political opponents as virulent extremists ahead of the November midterms. Ostensibly established to probe the “facts and circumstances” around Jan. 6, the committee has spent more than 12 months ignoring the fatal failures of Capitol Police and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The committee has good reason to, considering it was Pelosi who reportedly refused deployment of the National Guard six times.

On Tuesday, the committee finally pivoted from its public smear campaign to dedicate a portion of its hearing to the violence at the Capitol. The hearing, however, after re-establishing for the 100th time that members of the Trump White House disagreed with the president’s election challenges, featured testimony from an anonymous Twitter employee and former D.C. intelligence chief. If the panel were serious about digging into the security failures, however, a substantive proceeding would have brought forward officials with the Capitol Police Intelligence Unit, or even Pelosi herself.

On the day of the riot, Capitol Police already operating at half-staff were left ill-equipped and ill-trained to deal with demonstrations that everyone in Washington, including the Capitol parking attendants, knew were to descend on the complex.

Maybe Ocasio-Cortez should make her case to her Democrat colleagues to conduct a serious probe as opposed to complaining on Twitter.
