Democrat Consultant: ‘AOC Is the Democrats’ Best Shot Against Trump in 2024’

Democrat Consultant: ‘AOC Is the Democrats’ Best Shot Against Trump in 2024’

Leftwing populist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is the Democrats’ best hope of defeating a potential run by former President Donald Trump in 2024, Democrat consultant Michael Starr Hopkins penned in the Hill on Tuesday.

While Trump overcame the Republican establishment in 2016 to win a historic election over Hillary Clinton, the Democrat Party has not undergone the same reforms away from the establishment. Both Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden are establishment figures who defeated socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in 2016 and 2020 respectively, keeping the populist left out of the Oval Office.

Hopkins explained that Ocasio-Cortez, “the future of the Democratic Party,” has policies based in populism and for that reason is “less of a personality and more of a movement” and “a force to be reckoned with” in 2024 to combat Donald Trump. “She has been unafraid, unapologetic and unwilling to bend to the will of Washington,” the op-ed read.

“In the age of social media and quick sound bites, no Democrat is more prepared to embarrass a bully like Donald Trump,” Hopkins claimed. She’s the voice of a movement that began after the banks were bailed out by the government, while homeowners were left to default.”

“The simplicity with which she talks about everyday struggles hints that she’s not just a persona for consumption. She isn’t beholden to corporations, is a prodigious small-dollar fundraiser, and could out-Trump Trump like no other politician has been able to,” he explained.

Though Ocasio-Cortez could mount a campaign in 2024, Joe Biden has reportedly stated he is running for reelection because he believes he is the only Democrat who could defeat Trump. Yet 75 percent of Democrat voters want Joe Biden replaced atop the 2024 presidential ticket, up from 51 percent in February, according to a CNN poll. It should also be noted Trump leads Biden in a hypothetical 2024 presidential match-up by four points (45-41 percent), according to a Monday Harvard CAPS-Harris poll.

It is unclear if Ocasio-Cortez wants to mount a large campaign against the Democrat establishment in a 2024 primary against Biden or other potential contenders. Ocasio-Cortez decided not to campaign against establishment Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in 2022, preferring to stay in her far-left House seat where she has little competition to retain her national relevance.

When Ocasio-Cortez was asked about a potential run in 2024 on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, she refused to give a definitive answer. “Listen, I think that we need to focus on keeping a democracy for anybody to be president in the next couple of years, and that’s my central focus is helping [the] people of this country,” she said.

“I don’t know about all that,” Ocasio-Cortez replied.

Even AOC Is Doing A Better Job Questioning Capitol Security Features Than The Theatrical J6 Committee

Even AOC Is Doing A Better Job Questioning Capitol Security Features Than The Theatrical J6 Committee

New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has some concerns about Capitol security. Too bad her colleagues on a committee to investigate Capitol security have no interest in probing Capitol security.

On Wednesday, the congresswoman was verbally sexually harassed by commentator Alex Stein who stood outside the Capitol building and hurled provocative comments at the 32-year-old lawmaker. Stein filmed himself as if being a dirtbag would be something to brag about.

“Here’s AOC, my favorite big booty Latina,” said Stein. “I love you AOC, you’re my favorite. She wants to kill babies but she’s still beautiful, you look very beautiful in that dress. You look very sexy.”

Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t amused.

“I was actually walking over to deck him because if no one will protect us then I’ll do it myself,” she wrote to her more than 13 million followers on Twitter where she published the video.

In a follow-up interview with Punchbowl News on Thursday, Ocasio-Cortez shared more words on Capitol security, complaining her office had to call Capitol Police “five times in order to get them to ask for this person’s information.” The incident, she said, only contributes to her feeling unsafe.

“Ocasio-Cortez also complained that – in her view – some of the security lapses present during the Jan. 6 insurrection still haven’t been fixed,” Punchbowl reported, quoting the representative as saying “Every day we see these huge gaping holes. … They and many of these people were sassing our office back, asking us why we want this information. This is not about us attacking this information. This is about mitigating threats.”

If only there were a Select Committee established in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 riot to investigate the security lapses that literally opened the door to the turmoil. Ocasio-Cortez has some thoughts about that too:

On Tuesday, Democrats on the Jan. 6 Committee wrapped up their seventh hearing in a series of summer show trials to smear political opponents as virulent extremists ahead of the November midterms. Ostensibly established to probe the “facts and circumstances” around Jan. 6, the committee has spent more than 12 months ignoring the fatal failures of Capitol Police and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The committee has good reason to, considering it was Pelosi who reportedly refused deployment of the National Guard six times.

On Tuesday, the committee finally pivoted from its public smear campaign to dedicate a portion of its hearing to the violence at the Capitol. The hearing, however, after re-establishing for the 100th time that members of the Trump White House disagreed with the president’s election challenges, featured testimony from an anonymous Twitter employee and former D.C. intelligence chief. If the panel were serious about digging into the security failures, however, a substantive proceeding would have brought forward officials with the Capitol Police Intelligence Unit, or even Pelosi herself.

On the day of the riot, Capitol Police already operating at half-staff were left ill-equipped and ill-trained to deal with demonstrations that everyone in Washington, including the Capitol parking attendants, knew were to descend on the complex.

Maybe Ocasio-Cortez should make her case to her Democrat colleagues to conduct a serious probe as opposed to complaining on Twitter.

Nolte: AOC’s Lie About Ectopic Pregnancies and Abortion Could Get Women Killed

Nolte: AOC’s Lie About Ectopic Pregnancies and Abortion Could Get Women Killed

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Lunatic) is lying about ectopic pregnancies and abortion, which could get women killed.

A few days ago, AOC was reveling in the fact that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was chased out of a D.C. steakhouse by menacing protesters. But during her revel, she spread a bald-faced lie….

“Poor guy,” AOC tweeted. “He left before his soufflé because he decided half the country should risk death if they have an ectopic pregnancy within the wrong state lines.”

Forget her mean-girl approach to a Supreme Court Justice being harassed during a private meal. What AOC is doing is spreading health misinformation to her 13.2 million followers and beyond.

In no state is a surgical procedure for an ectopic pregnancy outlawed.

In no state is it illegal to remove an unborn child who has died.

And not only is this a lie, but it’s also a talking point among Democrats. On top of AOC, Reps. Judy Chu (D-CA) and Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) have said the same.

Here’s a statement from Chu:

When I first heard Roe was overturned, I immediately thought of who would be most harmed by this decision: a young girl who is a survivor of rape, a woman who cannot afford to travel to another state to access critical care, an expecting mother with an ectopic pregnancy whose life is in danger because she cannot have an abortion.

The worst part of this is how dangerous these dishonest statements are.

The Mayo Clinic describes the dangers of an ectopic pregnancy this way:

Pregnancy begins with a fertilized egg. Normally, the fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus. An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants and grows outside the main cavity of the uterus.

An ectopic pregnancy can cause your fallopian tube to burst open. Without treatment, the ruptured tube can lead to life-threatening bleeding.

The child cannot survive, so there is no “termination” of a pregnancy.

If women are running around with an ectopic pregnancy believing — because of liars like AOC — they cannot have an abortion, they could die. They could also die traveling to a state where baby killing remains legal.

If you have an ectopic pregnancy, you must have it taken care of as soon as possible, but here’s AOC telling women whose lives are in real danger that the procedure that might save their lives is outlawed in half the country.

Last week, Jonathan Turley raised the alarm about spreading this lie. “A woman reading such accounts might easily conclude that she could be charged with a crime or face other legal penalties if she sought treatment for an ectopic pregnancy in restrictive states,” Turley explained. “These politicians stress that time is of the essence and that such a loss of time in an ectopic pregnancy could prove lethal. Yet, their false claims could have precisely that effect.”

Nevertheless, five days have passed, and corporate media fact-checkers have not fact-checked these lies, and Twitter has not removed AOC’s dangerous tweet.

The only silver lining here is the desperation behind these lies. That’s how weak the pro-abortion argument is—these fanatics are reduced to telling hysterical and dangerous lies. Why? Because they cannot make a scientific, intellectual, or compassionate case for butchering an innocent, unborn baby.

Democrats Have Become A Serious Threat To The Republic

Democrats Have Become A Serious Threat To The Republic

Those who seek to destroy or delegitimize the Supreme Court for upholding the Constitution are no better than those who desire to overturn or delegitimize presidential elections. In fact, they probably pose a greater long-term threat to American “democracy.”

Now, if you believe the above contention is hyperbole, consider that many leftists aren’t merely advocating for court-packing or nullification of the Dobbs decision; they justify those attacks with a litany of other grievances about the constitutional order.

Even as the Supreme Court relinquished its power, and threw the abortion issue–unmentioned anywhere in the Constitution–back to the voters, a horde of j-school graduates and politicians, either ignorant of basic civics or contemptuous of them, descended with panic-stricken warnings about the demise of “democracy.” Almost none of their objections were grounded in any sort of legal arguments about the alleged constitutionality of terminating unwanted human beings. Instead, their case centered around the specious idea that the court had undermined the will of voters by no longer dictating abortion policy by judicial fiat.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who, at this point, sounds virtually indistinguishable from Senate leadership or the authoritarians writing at The Washington Post, points out that seven of the nine justices on the court “were appointed by a party that hasn’t won a popular vote more than once in 30 years,” that one of their seats “was stolen,” and that “several lied to Congress to secure their appointment…”

None of those contentions are true. Every single justice on the court, including the ones Democrats preemptively smeared as deviants to undermine the legitimacy of the court, was nominated using the prescribed constitutional method that is used by every party. And every senator who voted to confirm those justices did so using the only legal process available to them. The “popular vote” is not a real thing.

When Democrats win both the Senate and the White House, they have the power to nominate and confirm any justice they desire. But they also seem to be under the impression that when they win only the White House, they’re still authorized to dictate whom Republicans are allowed to confirm (as was the case with Merrick Garland). And when they are completely out of national power, they simply reject the legitimacy of justices who do not meet their invented, evolving, extraconstitutional standards. Democrats treat every victory of the opposition as dubiously attained.

“The Founding Fathers wrote a constitution designed to prevent a tyranny of the majority,” says former Barack Obama adviser David Axelrod. “But what happens when you have a tyranny of the minority, gaming the system to promote a radical agenda that flouts the will of the majority under the guise of constitutionalism?” Similar assertions were repeated across the left-wing punditsphere this weekend.

Axelrod, in true Obama fashion, begs the question. But the fact that the Electoral College doesn’t align with the “popular vote” isn’t a disqualifying aspect of American politics, it is the very point. If the Electoral College always synchronized with the outcome of the nonexistent direct democratic national tallies, it wouldn’t need to exist. It isn’t a loophole; it is a deliberately created mechanism that stops a handful of states from dominating policy. (Not only is the national vote immaterial, but we really have no idea what one would look like because (winning) candidates do not run up scores in big states, they campaign nationally.)

Though I do wonder what remedy Axelrod or Ocasio-Cortez have in mind for this supposed problem? Should the GOP abdicate the presidency to a Democrat every time it fails to win the nonexistent “popular vote”? Should Republican senators from smaller states ignore their constituents and ask Elizabeth Warren for permission to support judicial nominees? Sounds like one-party rule.

None of this is to even mention that a lack of national legislation on an issue isn’t a “tyranny of the minority.” It’s federalism. There is no other way to keep a sprawling, geographically, ethnically, culturally, religiously diverse nation free and self-governing. That’s why enumerated powers exist. And that’s also why the increasingly radical progressive left is obsessed with getting rid of the filibuster, the only thing preserving some semblance of legislative limitation on federal power. The only people who refer to federalism as “minority rule” are people who believe that Americans need to be “ruled” over in the first place. Indeed, the court did not stop Illinois from making its own abortion policies. It’s Axelrod who wants the court to compel, by edict, abortion policy in states like Mississippi.

Democrats want the Supreme Court, created to adjudicate the constitutionality of laws free from political pressures, to follow public opinion polls. The only way we can truly know how voters feel about abortion is by subjecting the issue to the democratic process. Whether Roe, a legal decision, is popular is irrelevant–though it’s unsurprising the majority of Americans, after decades of media championing abortion, know little about it. Because, at some point, voters will decide if the Democratic Party’s new position, government-funded abortion on demand until crowning, or the position of states like Mississippi, 15 weeks bans, are more “radical.”

When the Supreme Court concocted the constitutional “right” to abortion in 1973, the pro-life movement didn’t promise to dismantle the system; rather it spent 50 years creating an intellectual and political movement that would begin to restore proper constitutional limits. They voted for presidents who promised to put textualists on the bench and elected senators who would confirm them. If you’re unhappy with those rules, you are free to amend the Constitution. But, for the contemporary left, “democracy” isn’t just a euphemism for “policies we support” anymore, it’s a pernicious belief that Republicans have a responsibility to live in a political system that exists outside of the Constitution. And a system with two sets of rules is untenable.

Ocasio-Cortez: Supreme Court Justices Who ‘Lied’ About Roe v. Wade Should Be Impeached

Ocasio-Cortez: Supreme Court Justices Who ‘Lied’ About Roe v. Wade Should Be Impeached

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that the Supreme Court justices who lied about Roe v. Wade as the court case that set the precedent they would respect during their Senate confirmation should be impeached.

Ocasio-Cortez said, “We had two conservative senators in the United States Senate, Senator Manchin and Collins, come out with a very explosive allegation that these, several Supreme Court justices misled them in, during their confirmation hearings and in the lean lean-up to their confirmation. This is a crisis of legitimacy. We have a Supreme Court justice whose wife participated on January 6 and who used his seat to vote against providing documents that potentially led to evidence of such to investigators in Congress. This is a crisis of legitimacy, and president Biden must address that.

Anchor Chuck Todd said, “It’s interesting you say that. I want to put up the Joe Manchin quote in particular. His reaction — because he used the word, he said, they testified under oath. He made sure that was in his release. It sounds like you believe, okay, he might as well be saying, they lied to him, that he feels like they lied to him.

Ocasio-Cortez said, “They lied.”

Todd continued, “You think the House Judiciary Committee should begin the process of an investigation there?”

Ocasio-Cortez said, “If we allow Supreme Court nominees to lie under oath and secure lifetime appointments to the highest court of the land and then issue, without basis, if you read these opinions, issue without basis, rulings that seem to undermine the human civil rights of the majority of Americans, we must see that through. There must be consequences for such a deeply destabilizing action and hostile takeover of our democratic institutions. To allow that to stand is to allow that to happen, and what makes it particularly dangerous is that it sends a blaring signal to all future nominees that they can now lie to duly elected members of the United States Senate in order to secure Supreme Court confirmations, and seats on the Supreme Court.”

Todd said, “Do you think lying in a confirmation hearing is an impeachable offense?”

Ocasio-Cortez said, “I believe so. I believe so. I believe lying under oath is an impeachable offense. I believe violating federal law and not disclosing income from political organizations as Clarence Thomas did years ago is also potentially an impeachable offense. I believe that not recusing from cases with clear family members involved with deep violations with conflicts of interest is an impeachable offense and should be seriously considered, including by senators like Joe Manchin and Susan Collins.”

Hillary Clinton: Democrats Should Not Make Transgenderism a Main Issue

Hillary Clinton: Democrats Should Not Make Transgenderism a Main Issue

Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton cautioned Democrats against turning transgenderism into a cornerstone issue, advising them to instead focus on winning elections.

Speaking with the Financial Times this past Friday, Hillary Clinton gave a rather non-woke answer when asked how much Democrats should focus on transgender issues.

“Democrats seem to be going out of their way to lose elections by elevating activist causes, notably the transgender debate, which are relevant only to a small minority. What sense does it make to depict JK Rowling as a fascist?” the reporter asked.

Hillary Clinton said that winning the next election is too much of a priority to get side-tracked on pet issues.

“We are standing on the precipice of losing our democracy and everything that everybody else cares about then goes out the window,” Clinton said. “Look, the most important thing is to win the next election. The alternative is so frightening that whatever does not help you win should not be a priority.”

As noted by Fox News, Clinton’s caution against far-left politics follows comments she made in late 2021 when she advised Democrats to truly consider what issues actually win elections.

“I think that it is a time for some careful thinking about what wins elections, and not just in deep-blue districts where a Democrat and a liberal Democrat, or so-called progressive Democrat, is going to win,” Clinton said at the time. “I understand why people want to argue for their priorities. That’s what they believe they were elected to do.”

“Look, I’m all about having vigorous debate. I think it’s good, and it gives people a chance to be part of the process,” she added. “But, at the end of the day, it means nothing if we don’t have a Congress that will get things done and we don’t have a White House that we can count on to be sane and sober and stable and productive.”

Hillary Clinton is hardly the only prominent Democrat to caution against running on a platform of woke extremism. Last year, when Republican Glenn Youngkin handily won Virginia’s governor’s race, Democratic strategist James Carville blamed the outcome on “stupid wokeness.”

“[W]hat went wrong is just stupid wokeness,” said Carville. “Don’t just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Look at Long Island, look at Buffalo, look at Minneapolis, even look at Seattle, Wash. I mean, this ‘defund the police’ lunacy, this take Abraham Lincoln’s name off of schools. I mean that — people see that.”

“It’s just really — has a suppressive effect all across the country on Democrats. Some of these people need to go to a ‘woke’ detox center or something,” Carville continued. “They’re expressing a language that people just don’t use, and there’s backlash and a frustration at that.”

Carville’s comments prompted severe backlash from the likes of hardcore leftist Democrats like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who said that Democrats believing in a “woke problem” will hurt their chances for reelection because they “rely on the racial justice issue of voting rights.”

“One dangerous aspect of thinking there’s a ‘woke problem’ is that Dem chances for re-election or majorities in House, Senate, & WH rely on the racial justice issue of voting rights,” she tweeted. “Dems distancing from racial justice makes protection of voting rights less likely, ensuring losses.”

Elon Musk Tells AOC ‘Stop Hitting on Me’ when She Rants over ‘Billionaire with an Ego Problem’

Elon Musk Tells AOC ‘Stop Hitting on Me’ when She Rants over ‘Billionaire with an Ego Problem’

Elon Musk accused Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Friday of flirting with him as she raged about a billionaire controlling a huge communication platform.

“Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” Musk said in his reply with a blushing emoji:

In her initial post, Ocasio-Cortez wrote she was “Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special.”

In a post on Saturday, Ocasio-Cortez shared a screenshot of the exchange with what appeared to be her reply to Musk that said, “I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok.”

When a user pointed out that she deleted the tweet, Ocasio-Cortez claimed she tried not to give “people with massive ego complexes” attention:

Meanwhile, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson applauded Twitter’s purchase by Musk.

“Unlike the leaders of Facebook, Google, Apple, Amazon, Elon Musk believes in free speech. He thinks everyone should be allowed to talk, including people who disagree with him,” he said:

At this point, you have no choice but to put your hopes in the good intentions of an eccentric billionaire. There’s no other option because no one else is coming to the rescue. So, in the case of Elon Musk, we will see how this turns out, but for now, Musk’s purchase of Twitter is the single biggest political development since Donald Trump’s election in 2016. It is certainly the most threatening challenge to the corrupt and incompetent leadership of this country.

Meanwhile, leftist Twitter accounts lost followers while conservative accounts gained them after Musk’s successful bid to purchase the company.

“The hashtag #LeaveTwitter began to trend on the platform after the news of Musk’s $44 billion buyout broke, with some appearing to follow through on that promise,” Breitbart News reported Wednesday.

AOC Ditched Amazon Workers’ Rally Over ‘Security’ Fears Weeks Before Parading At 600-Person Met Gala

AOC Ditched Amazon Workers’ Rally Over ‘Security’ Fears Weeks Before Parading At 600-Person Met Gala

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ditched an Amazon workers’ rally in her home state due to what she and her team said was a hiatus on public appearances and possible “security threats” but she then wore a flashy “tax the rich” dress at the Met Gala, which traditionally boasts some 600 attendees, weeks later.

AOC tweeted in support of Amazon workers’ bid to unionize on Thursday but her celebration was cut short when “Breaking Points” co-host Krystal Ball confronted her with evidence that she lied about postponing public appearances weeks before she attended the high-profile Met Gala.

“Here’s the guy who organized the union drive talking about how you left them high and dry. These are your constituents, and you couldn’t be bothered to show up until they’re on the cusp of victory,” Ball tweeted at the Squad member along with a video interview with Amazon labor organizer Christian Smalls.

In the interview, Smalls explains how AOC “was really excited” to rally for the workers but days before the event, she abruptly canceled over a potential “security threat.”

“They didn’t give me a real answer besides they said it’s a security threat for AOC,” Smalls said on the “Krystal Kyle & Friends” interview. “It didn’t make any sense because they said they canceled all her in-person meetings for the rest of the month but then a couple weeks later she was at the Met Gala.”

“That’s a devastating point,” one of the hosts quipped. “I mean, so you don’t have time to go see the Amazon workers but you have time to wear a ‘tax the rich’ dress while you’re around the richest assh-les in the f-cking country.”

Instead of fessing up to her mistake, AOC doubled down that “the warehouse isn’t in my district” and told Ball “you should look at a map before claiming so.”

“One scheduling conflict aside, we have requested oversight investigations into Amazon, met with Amazon workers in the Woodside warehouses, and more. Hope you do more due diligence next time,” the progressive tweeted.

Another reporter who joined the feud claimed that he was “told by workers that your folks told them at last minute it was a security issue–not a scheduling conflict.”

“Whether ur district or not, you would think a NY Congressman could’ve tweeted support–particularly in final weeks–for one of the most important union drives in U.S,” he noted.

AOC replied that “security was an issue as well” but refused to acknowledge her deception.

“2021 included a lot of high level threats on my life, which limited what activities I was able to do, especially those outside,” the congresswoman wrote. “The combination of that + when we are able to get resources/time to secure them creates scheduling + logistical conflicts.”

Mere weeks after she failed to show up in support of Amazon workers, AOC attended the Met Gala along with hundreds of rich Hollywood elites, where she posed for photo opportunities in a “tax the rich” dress and gave red carpet interviews to multiple outlets including Vogue.
