It Doesn’t Matter That Voters Hate Joe Biden If Democrats Can Rig Elections

It Doesn’t Matter That Voters Hate Joe Biden If Democrats Can Rig Elections
Joe Biden

Just a month before the 2020 election, radio host Rush Limbaugh commented that Democrats “resent the whole premise behind elections. Look, they don’t believe they should have to persuade anybody to agree with them … The modern-day Democrats have to go through the motions of campaigning, and they have to go through the motions of trying to win the hearts and minds of voters. But they resent the h-ll out of it. And in their world, it’s the one thing standing in their way: This need, this requirement to win elections. And I’m just telling you: As soon as they can figure out a way to eliminate elections, they will do it.”

Today, Democrats are engaged in a full-court press to pass legislation that would brush state election safeguards aside and codify the shenanigans of 2020 into federal law. They’ll nuke the filibuster if they can, a step never taken previously for high-priority legislation but pursued now for a bill that nobody is marching in the streets for. Anything to cement themselves into a permanent position of power.

As Joe Biden himself said, “It’s about election subversion, not just whether or not people get to vote. Who counts the vote? That’s what this is about, that’s what makes this so different from anything else we’ve ever done.” Indeed.

Voters Aren’t Clamoring for Democrat Priorities

It’s hard being a Democrat lately. Just ask Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. After promising to hold a vote to eliminate the filibuster and force through passage of their “voting rights” bill by Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 17), he had to push it back again.

This, of course, comes on the heels of a stinging defeat of the Biden administration’s Covid vaccine mandate by the Supreme Court. That failure was preceded by the “Build Back Better” bill being stalled in the Senate, perhaps for good.

Party leaders are upset, but the truth is that voters are not enthusiastic about much of this. There are no marches for mandates. Nor is there any grassroots demand for Build Back Better or the federalization of state elections. And a recent poll found that support for the filibuster has only grown since Democrats began their push to eliminate it (now by a 53 percent to 27 percent approval to disapproval margin).

Democrats Mistakenly Double Down

Democrats may fail at policy, but they’ve always been reliably competent at the game of politics, zeroing in on votes with great precision. Have you noticed they haven’t been themselves lately, though?

Even after taking a shellacking in statewide elections in Virginia and New Jersey last November, a moment when sane politicians typically learn from defeat, they instead doubled down. In her usual well-reasoned manner, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., commented after the electoral bloodbath that Democrats were beaten, not because of the president’s agenda, but because they hadn’t done enough to “excite, speak to, or energize a progressive base.”

Never mind that voters knew what was at stake — and clearly rejected it.

One would have thought that older and more seasoned politicians might have guided the young House member back to reality, but the ragin’ Cajun himself, James Carville, only sparked her outrage in saying that “stupid wokeness” had cost the Democrats. James comes from the era of old-school politics, one that abided by the cardinal rule: “Never piss off voters.” He’s surely aware of its corollary: “If you do, then turn back – ASAP.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should know better, but she responded, “no, no,” when asked if the election results in Virginia and New Jersey would cause Democrats to rethink their plans. Full steam ahead.

Democrats Out of Touch

The president lamented that his big ticket bills hadn’t been passed before Election Day, and then concluded, “but I’m not sure I would have been able to change the number of very conservative folks who turned out in red districts that were Trump voters.”

For a politician who’s been in public office for nigh 50 years, that kind of logic seems disturbingly unhinged. How exactly does one surmise both that the party’s losses were due to not passing the big agenda soon enough (AOC’s position), and that it would not have mattered anyway because, you know, the red wave was coming? Excuses, blindness, or something else? It’s hard to tell.

We’re left to ponder: Have Democrats lost the ability to navigate public opinion? Does it even matter to them anymore? With the midterm elections just 10 months away, and the polls moving away from Democrats, will they continue to walk off the electoral cliff or bring themselves back to reality?

No Compromise

President Bill Clinton, who also saw his party shellacked in a midterm, acted in the way that sensible politicians normally do. He called up the new Republican speaker of the House and asked how they could work together. The result was a Democrat president signing on to welfare reform and abandoning his unpopular quest for government-run universal health care. Voters rewarded him with re-election.

Nothing seems to faze Joe, though. No compromise ever seems possible. There are, of course, times it’s noble to dig the heels in. Faced with an approaching enemy, Winston Churchill proclaimed, “Never give in, never give in, never, never, never — in nothing, great or small, large or petty — never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense.” So where is the honor and good sense in ignoring voters who now give this president an embarrassing 33 percent approval rating?

Instead of finding common values to unite the nation, Biden calls those who disagree with him a bunch of racists. “Do you want to be the side of Dr. King or George Wallace?,” Biden pontificated in a speech pushing his “voting rights” bill. “Do you want to be the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis? This is the moment to decide, to defend our elections, to defend our democracy.”

Churchill battled the Nazis. Biden battles half of the country who simply disagrees with his party on a matter of policy — that is, who should control state elections — and whether we should suddenly abandon a Senate rule that’s existed for more than 200 years.

Not the Will of the People

Instead of being the moderate voters thought he was and simply calling up Republicans to find common ground legislation, policies for which voters would reward him, Biden remains ideologically ensconced in a White House driven by leftist special interest groups — venturing out to speak only to his own party’s caucus.

Facing a headwind of opposition, he told the group of fellow Democrats on the Hill, “I don’t know that we can get this done … but I know one thing, as long as I have a breath in me … I’m going to be fighting to change the way these legislatures have moved.” Perhaps that’s the problem, Mr. President. You’re pushing a process rather than the will of the people.

Real Clear Politics notes that “it isn’t accidental that, in the generic ballot … the Democrats’ current vote share is 42.8%, nearly mimicking Biden’s.”

And “what does [RCP’s model] tell us about 2022? … a Republican-controlled Senate starts to come into the picture when Biden’s job approval falls to around 51% and becomes the most likely outcome at around 48%.” Biden is now at 42 percent approval in the RCP average, and that math should be clear to Democrats — but somehow, they seem unconcerned.

Maybe there’s a logical reason, a method to their madness. After pulling off the statistics-bending, six-fold swing-state wonder in the wee hours of election night 2020, perhaps Democrats now have reason to believe they’re no longer accountable to voters. Public opinion and polls become meaningless when you control the election process, when the courts turn a blind eye, and when the media blocks any honest inquiry.

Rush was right. Democrats are now working harder to change the election system than to change your mind because, as their actions demonstrate, they don’t care what you think. They just want to win.

Palin: ‘Fake Feminists’ AOC, Kamala Harris Bringing ‘Women’s Movement Back So Far’

Former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) said Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox Primetime” that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Vice President Kamala Harris were “fake feminists.”

Rachel Campos-Duffy said, “I’m sure you agree with me being the outsider. Donald Trump actually was probably harder. He had a much harder time with the press than Kamala or AOC or certainly Barack Obama.”

Palin said, “Oh, absolutely President Trump did have it much harder. It was always three against one with Trump. It was the Democrats. It was the press, obviously, and it was the RINOs within the establishment of the party and, yet, look what Trump could accomplish. Same answer with Kamala and her most recent issues, blaming gender as I had with AOC. Man, these fake feminists who bring the woman’s movement back so far by channeling everything right on back to oh, it’s our gender, doggone it, people don’t like us because we are female. Holy moly, Rachel, I know you, having been raised with just hard-working, that work ethic, that grounded-ness that I think is so necessary to be a good person and a good public servant. Rachel, perhaps, again, their foundation isn’t what is commonplace in the American populist where, no, gender really doesn’t matter. It’s the character of who you are. It’s your work ethic. I’m really thankful that I was brought up in a place where gender truly has not mattered, and certainly don’t blame criticisms on me being female. Shoot, can you imagine if I would have done that all these years? Now, what would they be saying?”

AOC Tests Positive for Coronavirus

AOC Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has tested positive for the coronavirus after returning from the holiday break.

In a statement on Sunday, the congresswoman’s office announced that she tested positive for the coronavirus after receiving two vaccine doses and a booster shot. The statement did not specify if AOC’s symptoms were mild.

“Representative Ocasio-Cortez has received a positive test result for COVID-19,” said the statement. “She is experiencing symptoms and recovering at home. The Congresswoman received her booster shot this Fall, and encourages everyone to get their booster and follow CDC guidance.”

AOC’s unfortunate bout with the coronavirus follows that of several vaccinated lawmakers who recently tested positive for the virus amid the omicron surge: Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH).

AOC’s positive coronavirus test comes just over a week after National Review revealed photos of the congresswoman relaxing maskless at a restaurant in Miami Beach alongside her boyfriend just as New York was experiencing a surge in omicron cases.

Days later, video emerged of a maskless AOC partying at a crowded Florida drag queen bar.

In response to the backlash, the congresswoman accused Republicans of having a sexual obsession with her after conservative activist Steve Cortes mocked her boyfriend’s appearance.

“It’s starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women,& LGBT+ people in general. These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It’s really weird,” she said.

AOC was not the only maskless prominent Democrat enjoying the Florida sunshine; none other than pro-mandate Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) was seen without a mask at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel:

AOC Seen Partying Maskless at Miami Drag Bar amid Controversy

The openly socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) appears to have brushed off critics of her New Year’s escape to Florida as her home state undergoes a surge in coronavirus cases by allegedly partying maskless at a drag bar in Miami.

Posted Sunday by Florida’s Conservative Voice, the video appeared to show the maskless congresswoman being welcomed onto the stage at a densely packed drag queen bar as she waved and smiled at cheering fans.

AOC’s appearance at the drag queen bar comes several days after National Review revealed photos of the congresswoman relaxing maskless at a restaurant in Miami Beach alongside her boyfriend. Her trip to the free state of Florida occurred just as New York was experiencing a surge in omicron cases.

“New York smashed its single-day COVID case record for the second straight day Thursday, reporting at least 74,207 new positives as the omicron surge stretches hospitals further,” NBC New York reported on Thursday.

In response to the criticism, particularly of her boyfriend’s appearance, the congresswoman accused Republicans of having a sexual obsession with her.

“It’s starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women,& LGBT+ people in general. These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It’s really weird,” she said.

Critics of AOC blasted her for suggesting that Republican attacks on her result from sexual frustration.

Ocasio-Cortez Blasted for Dismissing ‘Organized Retail Theft’ Crimewave

Ocasio-Cortez Blasted for Dismissing ‘Organized Retail Theft’ Crimewave

Openly socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has been getting blasted for attempting to downplay the smash-and-grab crimewave that has been destroying retail outlets in recent months.

Speaking with the Washington Times last week, Ocasio-Cortez dismissed the allegations of “organized retail theft” as a hoax with not much evidence to back it up.

“[A] lot of these allegations of organized retail theft are not actually panning out,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “I believe it’s a Walgreens in California cited it, but the data didn’t back it up.”

Contrary to the New York Democrat’s claims, the smash-and-grab crimewave has severely impacted retail outlets, with up to tens of billions of dollars in losses, according to the Associated Press.

“National retail groups last month estimated the annual losses to be in the tens of billions of dollars,” reported the AP. “Some states’ attorney generals are supporting a congressional bill that would require more prevention efforts by large online marketplaces, where experts say many of the stolen goods are fenced.”

Just last Friday, authorities in the San Francisco Bay Area conducted what they described as “one of the largest retail theft busts in California history,” uncovering upwards of $8 million worth of merchandise from CVS, Target, and Walgreens.

“This level of violence has taken it to a whole new level,” Rachel Michelin, president of the California Retailers Association, told the New York Times. “No one has seen this before.”

Retail outlet groups and politicians equally blasted Ocasio-Cortez for her dismissal of the problem.

“Respectfully, the Congresswoman has no idea what she is talking about. Both the data and stack of video evidence makes fairly clear that this is a growing problem in need of solutions,” said Jason Brewer, Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) senior executive vice president of communications. “If she is not concerned with organized theft and increasingly violent attacks on retail employees, she should just say that.”

The retail outlet Walgreens, which has reportedly closed dozens of stores due to the rampant crimewave, asserted to the Washington Times that “organized retail crime is one of the top challenges facing” the company,” adding that the problem “has evolved beyond shoplifting and petty theft to the sale of stolen and counterfeit goods online.”

Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) called Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks “tone-deaf and offensive.”

AOC Further Weakens The First Amendment

Bowne Report – Nov 19, 2021

The Democratic process under Nancy Pelosi has become that of a dictatorship. As the face of the January 6th patriot trap, Jacob Chansley is sentenced to 3 years and 5 months in order to strengthen the Democrats stranglehold on their politics of fear and victimization.

The House of tyrants are now setting a new precedent. Stripping their opposition of their committee assignments over hypercriticism of an anime. Meanwhile ignoring the violent rhetoric that incited billions of property damage and at least two dozen deaths.

Arizona Republican Representative Paul Gosar posted this video to Twitter. The video depicts Gosar as the hero Attack on Titan anime defeating the oppressive Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Joe Biden. Leave it to the victimization mindset of the Democrats to wield tyranny in the form of censure to further destroy freedom of expression and accelerate the characterization of the GOP as White Supremacists and misogynists.

If the Democrats truly had their way, they would imprison anyone and everyone they deem inferior to their lunacy.

Zuckerberg’s Life in ‘Metaverse’ sparks fear, loathing, marvel and mockery

Zuckerberg’s Life in ‘Metaverse’ sparks fear, loathing, marvel and mockery

Zuckerberg’s presentation of future Life in ‘Metaverse’ sparks fear, loathing, marvel and mockery

Matrix? Misdirection? Cringe?

RT-USA News

Mark Zuckerberg’s ambitious vision of developing a virtual “metaverse” – and renaming the parent of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp “Meta” to match it – has everyone scratching their heads and wondering what it all means.

Zuckerberg announced the rebranding on Thursday, during the company’s hour-long Connect 2021 virtual event, describing it as “the next evolution of social connection.” Though the technologies to make the “metaverse” happen are still in development and may be years off, the name change is effective immediately.

Meta won’t erase Facebook – or Instagram or WhatsApp – but denote the parent company in charge of all three, much as Alphabet is the company that owns Google and YouTube, for example.

There seemed to be some confusion on that account online, however, as people who have been targeting Zuckerberg as an enemy of “our democracy” immediately jumped to the conclusion it was an attempt to hide or change the subject.

“I don’t know if Zuckerberg knows but changing your name doesn’t help avoid legal culpability,” tweeted Zephyr Teachout, a progressive Democrat from New York, adding that Meta was “a perfectly fine name for one of the dozen social networks that will be leftover after the break up.”

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) said it reminded her of “a cancer to democracy metastasizing into a global surveillance and propaganda machine for boosting authoritarian regimes and destroying civil society… for profit!”

Dan Pfeiffer, former Obama aide and current board member of Good Information Inc, called Zuckerberg’s ideas “embarrassingly stupid” with no one at Facebook daring to tell him so.

Others made fun of the rebrand, and for a while ‘feta’ was trending with memes involving Zuckerberg and the famous Greek cheese. The fast-food chain Wendy’s joked they would change their name to ‘Meat.’

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted out a dictionary definition of the term in English, saying that “meta” means “referring to itself or to the conventions of its genre; self-referential.”

His company later added the only META they will recognize is their Machine [Learning], Ethics, Transparency and Accountability team.

Twitter Safety@TwitterSafety
Once you get past the memes and mockery, however, Zuckerberg’s presentation revealed an ambitious plan for what he called “embodied internet,” a combination of virtual and augmented reality that will be experienced through motion sensors, smart glasses and technologies that have yet to be invented.

One of the company technicians he spoke with mentioned that the project will require “a dozen major tech breakthroughs” over the coming years. They were already working on things like “photorealistic avatars,” showing a concept video that looks like a deepfakers’ dream come true.

This also quickly drew comparisons to the Matrix, a virtual world from the 1999 sci-fi dystopia.

Dave Rubin@RubinReport
They’re trying to destroy the physical world so they can keep you locked in a room while eating bugs and pretending to be a space man. It’s the Matrix. We are the batteries…

Others found the notion of a virtual reality fine by itself, but lamented that Facebook is the “wrong company” to run it. Fast Company called it “a vast platform for misinformation and disinformation,” citing as proof the conspiracy theories such as “Russian meddling” in US elections and the claim the January 6 “insurrection” was planned there by “domestic terrorists.”

“I believe that metaverse is the next chapter for the internet,” Zuckerberg argued, saying it would deliver the ultimate promise of technology, “to be together with anyone… teleport anywhere… create and experience anything.”

A future where with just a pair of glasses you’ll be able to step beyond the physical world.

Since founding Facebook in 2004, Zuckerberg has managed to monetize social relationships and create a massive media empire. Thursday’s presentation suggests something far more ambitious: a vision of humanity’s future beyond the constraints of physics, even as the political forces he has himself supported continue to paint a target on his back.

Ocasio-Cortez: Moderate Senators ‘Not Really’ Coming to the Table

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that moderate Democratic senators were “not really coming to the table” to negotiate President Joe Biden’s reconciliation spending package.

BRENNAN: So- but a $2 trillion ceiling, that means you’re going to have to maneuver here somewhere. The head of your caucus said this morning you’re looking at shorter funding periods for programs. So instead of chopping, sort of nipping and tucking.

OCASIO-CORTEZ: Yes, yes–

BRENNAN: So, what is non-negotiable there for you?

OCASIO-CORTEZ: So, you know, you bring up an excellent point, in that the fact is- is that we do have to compromise with- with- with the fact that we have Sens. Manchin and Sinema, who refuse to support certain programs for working families. And so, the compromises and options that we have before us is do we shorten our funding programs? Do you reduce the level of funding? Do you cut programs out together? I think that one of the ideas that out there is fully fund what we can fully fund, but maybe instead of doing it for 10 years, you fully fund it for five years or you fully fund it–

BRENNAN: What are you thinking of when you throw that out as an example?

OCASIO-CORTEZ: So I think, you know, I think there’s a- there’s so many different programs in the budget bill. First of all, I think it’s unfortunate that we have to, even as Democrats have a discussion about not having a child tax credit. I think it’s unfortunate that we- we have to compromise with ourselves for an ambitious agenda for working people. I believe that free community college should be- it should be a standard, it should- we should have K through 14. But this is one bill and perhaps we can vote for more down the line, and we’ve discussed with the president about that, continuing that funding. But there’s a- there’s a wide variety of those programs, and I would encourage folks in their community to also reach out to their elected officials to let them know what programs they want to make sure are kept. But I think there are some things that are- that are that are very, very important to us.

BRENNAN: What’s your- for you. What is non-negotiable?

OCASIO-CORTEZ: You know, I think some of- some of the climate provisions that we have, we cannot afford to increase carbon or just fossil fuel emissions at this time. That is simply the science. That is not something we can kick down the line. Right now, both the IPCC report saying that this is code red for humanity, as well as recent reporting, saying that if you’re under 40, like myself, like millions of Americans, you’ll be seeing a catastrophic increase–

BRENNAN: You’re going to run right into Senator Joe Manchin on those issues though, you know that.

OCASIO-CORTEZ: Yes. And I think- I think Senator Manchin is going to run to the science as well.

BRENNAN: So, what do you think that means? And he also has said for him, this bill will be dead on arrival if it does not include the Hyde amendment, which would ban federal funding for abortion.

OCASIO-CORTEZ: So, I think what we’re seeing here is a dynamic where progressives are trying to skin this cat nine different ways, but moderates are not really coming to the table. And I don’t even want to call them moderates because there’s a lot of moderates in the party that don’t like being associated with- with some of this hard-line tactics. It’s- it’s a very tiny contra of- of conservative Democrats. But- but I mean, this is the issue is that we’re saying, OK, we’re going down from six trillion to three trillion. Now it’s one trillion and we have some these conservatives that say, well, our line is zero and you’re lucky if you get one. And this isn’t- I want to ground this conversation because this isn’t a tit for tat between personality- and it’s not about me and Senator Manchin. It’s about families in the Bronx. This is about people who need to take their bus- take a bus to drop their kid off at school, and they’re not going to be able to go back to work because they don’t have childcare to go back to work.

BRENNAN: But- but it is a question about the vision for the Democratic Party. And last year, you were very, very frank during the presidential race, you said. In any other country, Joe Biden and I would not even be in the same party, but in America, we are. Has Joe Biden proved himself progressive enough for you now?

OCASIO-CORTEZ: Yeah, you know, I think- and- and those comments are- are- are referring to parliamentary systems in other countries where there’s a lot more diversity. We don’t have a two party duopoly in other countries the way that we do in ours, but I think that President Biden has been a good faith partner to the entire Democratic Party. He is in fact a moderate and we disagree on certain issues. But he- he reaches out and he actually tries to understand our perspective, and that is why I am fighting for his agenda with the Build Back Better Act.

BRENNAN: Are you surprised, though, that he hasn’t been able to deliver those Senate moderates that you’re having those problems with?

OCASIO-CORTEZ: No. No, I think that for quite some time we have seen that some of these conservatives in the party. You know, this is not about a team, it’s about, you know, individual sort of preferences. But that is OK. You know, we’re going to come together. I believe in the vision and commitment of our party for working people. And the thing is, is that we have to respect all families and all voters.

BRENNAN: Lastly, just, you know, these moderates in the house as well, not just Senator Manchin would say, you’re not playing for the team when you hold one bill hostage, as they would say for the other, and put a bill that has roads and bridges and jobs potentially at risk.

OCASIO-CORTEZ: Well, the agreement several months ago to even proceed on that one bipartisan bill was that it was tied with- with our larger build back, better agenda. And the reason when some folks say, Well, why can’t you just pass this, and we’ll see everything else later? First of all, we do not. Both of these bills need to pass. Both will not pass if they- if people try to separate them, if we try to diverge from that agreement that was settled several months ago. We can’t simply invent new terms mid-stream and then expect everyone else that those initial terms to hold. I’m willing to hold up my end of the bargain by sticking to both. And we want all we need to expect all of our lawmakers who are part of that deal to stick to that bargain.
