Sen. Ron Johnson tests positive for COVID-19, he’s the third Senator infected





Sen. Ron Johnson confirmed to Saturday morning that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and noted that he was surprised he was positive, because he has no symptoms as of yet.

He was tested out of an abundance of caution because he was in contact with another Senator who tested positive for the virus. He is the third senator to test positive in recent days, among many other government officials.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump confirmed that they had contracted coronavirus, after it was confirmed that Hope Hicks, a close aide to Trump had the novel coronavirus.

By Saturday, White House doctors made the decision to send President Trump to Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda for treatment for the virus out of an abundance of caution. Trump had mild symptoms, including a low-grade fever and a cough.

He is doing well according to White House officials and sent a Tweet thanking all those who have prayed for his speedy recovery.

According to Fox News, since Trump’s positive test, Senator’s Thom Tillis, R-N.C., and Mike Lee, R-Utah have all tested positive, along with the most recent, Johnson.

Other administration officials with the virus are Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien and Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel, have tested positive and former Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway, among others.
