Ric Grenell Goes To Town On Idiot Reporters: Maybe You’re Too Young Or Dumb To Intelligently Discuss Actual Issues

Former Acting Director of the National Intelligence Richard Grenell offered blunt advice to reporters at the White House press briefing Friday when journalists began to grill the former senior Trump official on unrelated issues to the day’s events.

On Friday, Israel announced it would establish formal diplomatic ties with Kosovo and Serbia, which will each open embassies in Jerusalem. The deal comes just weeks after Israel opened up relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a historic agreement featuring a peace deal between Israel and another Arab nation for the first time in more than 20 years.

“I wanted to ask you about another initiative,” one reporter began before being cut off shortly after.

“I’m going to just talk about Kosovo and Serbia,” Grenell said. “I don’t know if you can find it on a map, but this is atrocious. I have to tell you guys, you might be too young to understand what this issue is about. Maybe the older journalists should step up and say this is a big deal. This is a big issue.”

Grenell continued, offering a sobering analysis of the D.C. press corps who routinely concentrates on a litany of political issues relevant to the gossip in Beltway circles, an act he considers a disservice to the rest of the country.

I’m astounded that what happens in Washington, D.C. and especially in this room. I’ve gotta tell, get substantive. Maybe it’s too complicated of an issue for you all… Today is about Kosovo and Serbia. Let’s take a little time and talk about this 21-year issue … We’re getting the same questions that are all politics. You guys don’t understand what’s happening outside of Washington, D.C. People aren’t listening to you anymore. It’s really a crisis in journalism and I think it’s because people are too young to understand the issues like Kosovo and Serbia. How about a substantive question?

Prior to his role leading the administration’s Department of National Intelligence as the highest ranking openly gay White House official, Grenell previously served as the U.S. ambassador to Germany.
