NASHVILLE – A parent has been charged with reckless endangerment after her child brought a loaded 9mm gun to Napier Elementary. The student confided in a staff member at an after-school program that the weapon was in her backpack all day at school.
Officers recovered the weapon, which was fully loaded with a round in the chamber. Derrika Parker, 29, admitted she put her firearm in the child’s backpack.
She was arrested on outstanding warrants along with the reckless endangerment charge.
