Migrants Still Not Leaving NYC Hotel, Demand Free Stays at ‘Vacant Luxury Apartments’ on Billionaires Row

Border crossers, who arrived on buses from Texas, are still not leaving a New York City hotel where they were placed, for free, by Mayor Eric Adams (D). Instead of shelters, the border crossers are demanding to be set up in “vacant luxury apartments” on Billionaires Row.

Last week, as Breitbart News reported, city officials sought to move single male adult border crossers out of the Watson Hotel in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan where Adams’ administration had initially placed them as part of his migrant hotels plan.

Many of the border crossers, though, refused to leave and set up giant encampments on the city’s sidewalks that were eventually taken down by the New York Police Department (NYPD).

Still, according to local reports, border crossers are refusing to leave the Watson Hotel in protest over what they claim are poor conditions at the city’s mega-shelter at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.

Instead, an activist with NYC ICE Watch shouted that border crossers should be placed in “vacant luxury apartments” all along the city’s Billionaires Row — paid for by New Yorkers.

“[Adams] could have easily, along with Gov. Hochul, opened up all the vacant luxury apartments,” the activist said. “We are on 57th Street right now. This is billionaire’s row. Half of the super towers on this street are empty.”

As nearly 50,000 border crossers have been bused to New York City, a sanctuary jurisdiction, since the spring of last year, Adams has recently called on President Joe Biden to “fairly distribute” illegal immigration across the United States.

Rather than cracking down on illegal immigration, the Biden administration is creating new programs to bring even more migrants to the U.S.

Most recently, for instance, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) launched a mobile app where foreign nationals living in Mexico can schedule appointments to get released into the U.S. interior at the southern border.

Similarly, DHS announced a plan that blows open the doors to an even more expansive Catch and Release network at the border, where 360,000 more border crossers will be able to get into the U.S. interior by applying for humanitarian parole.

Already, Biden’s DHS is using a little-known parole program to mass-release hundreds of thousands of border crossers into the U.S. interior every month. At current estimates, the Biden administration has released 1.6 to two million border crossers into American communities since February 2021.

Photos: Migrants Refuse to Leave NYC Hotel, Demand Taxpayers Give Them ‘Permanent Homes’

Border crossers, who arrived in New York City on buses from Texas, are refusing to leave a luxury Manhattan hotel that city officials had placed them in.

Over the weekend, city officials sought to move migrants out of the Watson Hotel in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan and to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal where Mayor Eric Adams has constructed a massive shelter for new arrivals.

Many of the border crossers staying at the Watson Hotel, paid for by taxpayers, are refusing to leave and have instead set up a homeless encampment outside the hotel. There, they are demanding the city “cancel rent” and provide them with “permanent homes.”

Some open borders activists, assisting the migrants, even suggested to ABC 7 News that new arrivals get placed in some of the city’s most expensive properties without charge.

Another sign posted by border crossers outside the Watson Hotel reads “no to discrimination towards immigrants” while one other reads “We need housing to sleep, we need help please.”

The housing demands come as New Yorkers, particularly working and middle class, grapple with exorbitant rents and skyrocketing home prices that have pushed many out of the city’s five boroughs and hundreds of thousands out of the state altogether.

Nearly 50,000 border crossers have been bused to New York City, a sanctuary jurisdiction, since the spring of last year. Those new arrivals will immediately begin competing for limited housing across the city, pushing the price of rent and homes way up for natives.

Real estate investors are some of the biggest beneficiaries of mass immigration to the United States. Immigration-driven population growth, set to bring the United States population to more than 400 million by 2060, is likely to send housing prices even higher.

A 2017 study published in the Journal of Housing Economics found that “increases in immigration into a metropolitan statistical area are linked with rising rents and home prices in that metropolitan statistical area and neighboring metropolitan statistical areas.”

Republicans in Congress representing New Yorkers — including Rep. Elise Stefanik, Claudia Tenney, Nick Langworthy, Marc Molinaro, Nicole Malliotakis, Andrew Garbarino, Anthony D’Esposito, and Nick LaLota — have been largely silent about the connection between mass immigration and housing costs.

Analysis: ‘Mind-Blowing’ Illegal Immigration Under Biden Approaching 1% of Total U.S. Population

Analysis: ‘Mind-Blowing’ Illegal Immigration Under Biden Approaching 1% of Total U.S. Population

President Joe Biden’s administration may bring a record 2.7 million illegal aliens to the United States-Mexico border this year, new analysis projects.

For 2021, Steven Kopits with Princeton Policy Advisors accurately projected that about two million border crossers and illegal aliens would be apprehended.

Likewise, Kopits correctly projected that more than 2.3 million border crossers and illegal aliens would be apprehended in 2022, for a total of about 4.2 million apprehensions since Biden took office.

As illegal immigration hit a record monthly high in December 2022, with more than 250,000 apprehensions at the border, Kopits writes that the figures “are simply surreal” and suggests that Biden is on pace to set a new illegal immigration record this year.

Kopits writes:

With December apprehensions exceeding expectations, we increase our calendar and fiscal year 2023 forecast for southwest border apprehensions to 2.7 million, which would represent a new record by 400,000 over fiscal and calendar year 2022. These are truly mind-blowing numbers. Annual southwest border apprehensions are beginning to approach 1% of the total US population. [Emphasis added]

Most significantly, those illegal aliens who are known to be successfully crossing the border reached nearly 88,000 last month. This figure comes after more than 73,000 illegal aliens successfully entered via the border in November 2022 — adding to the 600,000 illegal aliens who are known to have evaded Border Patrol in the last fiscal year.

These so-called “got-away” figures are on top of the tens of thousands of border crossers that the Biden administration is releasing into the U.S. interior every month. Over just a couple of summer months in 2021, for example, the administration released over 150,000 border crossers into American communities.

Though the Biden administration has drastically expanded its Catch and Release network at the border, the Department of Homeland Security continues to hide the monthly number of border crossers who are directly released into the U.S. interior.

A Los Angeles Times/YouGov poll, published in December, reveals that 65 percent of Americans oppose the Biden administration’s releasing border crossers into American communities rather than detaining them while they await their asylum hearings.

Migrants, Bused to NYC, Arrested for Allegedly Stealing $12.5K from Macy’s

Four border crossers, bused from Texas to New York City, were arrested this month after allegedly stealing nearly $12,500 worth of merchandise from a Macy’s department store.

On Monday, the Nassau County Police Department in Long Island, New York announced the arrests of 19-year-old Wrallan Cabezas Meza, 30-year-old Jose Garcia Escobar, 21-year-old Miguel Angel Rojas, and 27-year-old Rafael Rojas for allegedly shoplifting at Macy’s.

All of the men are newly arrived border crossers who were bused from Texas to New York City as part of Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) plan to send migrant buses to sanctuary jurisdictions.

In total, nearly $12,500 worth of merchandise was recovered from the four border crossers. Escobar and Rafael Rojas were subsequently released from jail without bail. It is unclear if Meza and Angel Rojas remain in jail on bail.

According to the New York Post, Meza crossed the United States-Mexico border on July 4, 2022 while the others arrived at the border months later in September. All were put on buses by the state of Texas and relocated to New York City.

Angel Rojas and Rafael Rojas, the Post reports, have been living rent-free at the Westin Hotel in Manhattan. A whistleblower recently called out Mayor Eric Adams’ (D) plan that gives lucrative city contracts to a number of hotels willing to house migrants arriving on buses.

According to the whistleblower, border crossers are fighting hotel staff, drinking all day, and having sex in public, among other things.

Last week, Adams pleaded with President Joe Biden to create a federal program that would “fairly distribute” illegal immigration across the U.S. so as to relieve New York City of the burden of accepting tens of thousands of border crossers that have arrived since last spring.

Exclusive – Rep. Russell Fry Previews Oversight Committee’s Southern Border Hearing: Biden Is ‘a Day Late and a Border Wall Short’

Exclusive – Rep. Russell Fry Previews Oversight Committee’s Southern Border Hearing: Biden Is ‘a Day Late and a Border Wall Short’

Rep. Russell Fry (R-SC) previewed an upcoming House Oversight Committee hearing on the border crisis while appearing on Sirius XM’s Breitbart News Saturday over the weekend and blasted President Joe Biden as “a day late and a border wall short” on the heels of his first trip to the border two years into his presidency.

Fry is the only freshman congressmember to serve on both the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees and is one of just three members of Congress serving on both. The representative for South Carolina’s seventh district — who unseated former Rep. Tom Rice (R-SC), one of ten House Republicans to vote to impeach former President Donald Trump — emphasized the importance of oversight from all committees but noted that the Judiciary and Oversight committees would be key vehicles in bringing about accountability.

“Look, every single committee is going to have oversight capabilities into this administration into what is going on, but these two, Oversight and Judiciary, are going to be kind of at the centerpiece of the oversight umbrella, if you will, of the new Republican majority,” Fry told Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle. “I mean, that is one of the tools of House Republicans in really exposing what is going on in the Biden administration, that they haven’t done oversight for two years. Nancy Pelosi didn’t do anything.”

The upcoming Oversight hearing on the border will take place February 6, and as Fry pointed out, the committee will hear testimony from “officials at the border about how the Border Patrol agents are managing the crisis” in addition to “the impacts of the crisis on … their mission” of securing the border.

“To me, look, I mean, the president, it took two years to get down there,” said Fry. “You know, he went down to the border … during the slowest time of the year in January … President Biden’s been a day late and a border wall short. I mean, we really have to get a handle on that. You look at the policies of the Trump administration on illegal immigrant crossings on the border wall; these things work. These things unite the American people, really, on how to deal with this issue, but Democrats have turned a blind eye, so… uncovering what is going on down there is really important so that we know how to fix it because this administration hasn’t done that.”

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported more than 250,000 migrant encounters along the Southern border in December alone, setting a new record, as Breitbart News reported.

LISTEN:

Boyle emphasized that “oversight is not just about ‘We’re going to go get these guys, and we’re going to go, you know, embarrass them and … drag them through the mud,’… it’s about highlighting these problems.”

“Again, highlighting the problems with the policies that we’re seeing at the border, digging into what went wrong at the beginning of the Biden administration, and then recommending solutions … that can then be implemented policy-wise,” Boyle added, emphasizing that Democrats and the mainstream media have claimed that Republicans are overstepping.

Fry concurred, noting, “The oversight capabilities of a Congress, any Congress, are really important to make sure that the administration, any administration, is doing their job and enforcing the laws and, and executing the laws that Congress passes … so this is, this is not new,” he said.

“And you know, it’s amazing to me, Democrats, how they flip the script because just a couple years ago they wanted to investigate everything, and it ultimately culminated in … a wrongful impeachment of a president without due process. … But now, it’s hands off, we can’t touch them,” Fry explained. “We can’t do anything … that would highlight the failures of this administration. But here’s the thing: I mean, they can continue to gaslight us with the national media, but the American people are smart, they know what’s going on. They see it, they feel it in their pocketbooks, so oversight is a really good way, like you said, to … bring light to issues that are happening in real time and provide solutions on how to deal with them.”

“So I think the border is chief among those, I mean, Republicans are committed in their commitment to America to secure that border, and part of that is going to be … a range of Oversight hearings that’s going to highlight the failures of this administration on dealing with the crisis at the border,” continued Fry. “Look, every single town in this country is seeing overdoses spike from fentanyl. I mean, we’re at an all-time high, you’re seeing border crossings at an all-time high, and people see it, they feel it in our communities, and it’s because of the failures of this administration to secure the border and enforce the laws. So oversight is going to provide not only a why, but a how to fix it.”

Boyle asked Fry if Americans can expect impeachments over the handling of the border crisis, including a potential impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, in addition to other actions to ensure accountability.

“Absolutely. For me, I think all options should be on the table as they should be for any Congress,” said the representative for South Carolina’s Seventh Congressional District. “But I also think in the same vein, having run against somebody who voted for [the] impeachment of a president … I think you’ve kind of lay your case out. I think you’ve got to develop testimony, real testimony in these hearings, to talk about the failures … and to expose them for what they are.”

Mexican President AMLO Praises Biden for Halting Border Wall: ‘Thank You’

Mexican President AMLO Praises Biden for Halting Border Wall: ‘Thank You’

Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) thanked President Joe Biden for halting the construction of border wall along the United States-Mexico border at a North American summit on Tuesday.

Alongside Biden and Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, AMLO praised Biden’s immediate halt to border wall construction along the southern border. The day after taking office, Biden signed an executive order that stopped all wall construction that had been underway by former President Trump.

“You, President Biden, you are the first president of the United States in a very long time that has not built, not even one meter, of wall,” AMLO said during remarks at the summit. “In that, we thank you for that sir. Although some might not like it, although the conservatives don’t like it.”

Indeed, as Breitbart News has chronicled, the Biden administration has chosen to leave wide holes in the border wall, rendering the barrier useless in many circumstances for Border Patrol agents trying to reduce illegal immigration from Mexico.

jbinder

Instead, the Biden administration has spent previously-allocated border wall funds on “environmental remediation” projects, even as some 2.6 million border crossers and illegal aliens are projected to be apprehended this year.

While rejecting the benefits of a border wall to stop illegal immigration into the U.S., Biden is spending nearly half a million dollars in taxpayer money to build a security fence around his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Biden Comes Away From First Border Trip Having Seen Nothing And Learned Nothing

Biden Comes Away From First Border Trip Having Seen Nothing And Learned Nothing

It might have taken him half a term, but President Joe Biden finally visited the country’s southern border.

On Sunday, the president visited the U.S.-Mexico border at El Paso days shy of his second anniversary in office, where he has either repealed or severely limited nearly every policy put in place by his Republican predecessor.

The trip was complete with all the hallmarks of a politician desperate to show face while aiming to avoid accountability. Biden’s meant to present himself as an assertive commander-in-chief who takes the border seriously with his brief appearance, but in reality, it was a pretend performance all along.

According to CNN, which described the presidential tour as a “tightly controlled visit,” in the headline of its coverage, Biden “responded to a few questions from reporters, saying that the government would provide every resource at the border.” Without extrapolating on what was asked, the network went on to report that Biden met with workers at a migrant detention center out of earshot of the few reporters on the ground. The small selection of reporters who traveled with the president generated no news from the visit beyond photos and facts about the president’s general whereabouts.

According to Fox News, the areas visited by the president were polished before arrival. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sources described a “sanitized and orderly” situation presented to the president, clouding the severity of the crisis, where pop-up encampments in El Paso were dissolved ahead of Biden’s trip.

Brandon Judd, the president of the National Border Patrol Council, told Fox News the president didn’t even visit the most problematic areas.

“You can look across the ports of entry on the entire southwest border, and that’s not where we’re seeing the illegal immigration,” Judd told the network Monday. “We’re seeing the illegal immigration between the ports of entry.”

The president’s visit, however, failed to include time with either migrants or border agents stationed along the nearly 2,000-mile-long perimeter’s most stressed areas. The trip was merely a cheap political stunt to silence critics of Biden who consistently highlight his absence at the border while overwhelmed law enforcement continue failing to contain the surge in migration.

In October, the CBP reported roughly 2.3 million migrant encounters in the 2022 fiscal year, setting a new 12-month record. The CBP estimates nearly 600,000 migrants that have successfully evaded capture, according to officials who spoke to Fox News.

House Republicans have responded to the crisis by threatening to wield their new majority in the lower chamber for Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’s impeachment.

“We have lost operational control of our southern border, empowering drug cartels and human trafficking,” said House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy in November before he was elected to the speakership. “If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action, and every failure [and] will determine whether we can begin an impeachment inquiry.”

Biden’s brief border blitz foreshadowed preparations for the administration’s revocation of Title 42, a Trump-era public-health order put in place at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic empowering border officials to expel migrants. The president ordered the law be terminated but was blocked by the Supreme Court last month. The Court will rule on the policy later this year.

Three days before the visit, Biden announced a series of measures at the White House supposedly intended to curb illegal migration. The speech amounted to nothing but lip service to precede his long-anticipated trip to the southern border. Provisions include new humanitarian aid for countries exporting the migrants and a welcome mat for 30,000 new annual migrants from Venezuela, Haiti, Cuba, and Nicaragua every month.

The presidential border trip coming in the middle of winter, when crossings are at their lowest, at a relatively controlled port of entry where officials cleaned up camps ahead of the visit as the White House preps for a two-day appearance at the North American Leaders’ Summit in Mexico City this week, illustrates a president deeply unserious about grasping the crisis.

The president didn’t even go into 2023 with any major plans to visit the border. On a trip to Arizona last month, Biden responded to the routine criticism of his absence by claiming, “there are more important things going on.”

But with the drama over the speakership on Capitol Hill taking over the news cycle, Biden quickly made his speech on immigration and took a trip down to El Paso.

Biden Erupts Into Fits Of Rage At Scenes Of Overwhelmed Southern Border

Biden Erupts Into Fits Of Rage At Scenes Of Overwhelmed Southern Border

Yet he still does nothing about it

Steve Watson

Summit News

Joe Biden hates seeing scenes of illegal immigrants flooding across the Southern border and regularly explodes into fits of rage in front of aides when shown the footage, according to senior officials quoted in a new book.

The claim is made in the upcoming book The Fight of His Life: Inside Joe Biden’s White House by author Chris Whipple, a copy of which was obtained by Fox News.

“Meanwhile, illegal immigrants kept arriving. And Biden was furious,” the book says, adding “Aides had rarely seen him so angry. From all over the West Wing, you could hear the president cursing, dropping f-bombs (he’d always apologize when women were present).”

One senior official commented that Biden was furious at a “lack of solutions” to the border crisis, noting “It’s like, ‘How would you feel if you were me and these were the solutions you had?’ It’s the weight of the presidency, right?’”

In recent weeks Biden has claimed there are more important things going on than the border crisis, while his administration has sought to punish States and Governors attempting to do something about it.

The book also noted that “early in his term he had reserved the f-bomb mostly for discussions of the southern border,” but quickly started breaking it out whenever there was any other problem.

Earlier we highlighted how the book also claims Biden has stopped speaking freely in the presence of Secret Service agents tasked with protecting him because they are white Southerners.

Books Claims Biden Refuses to Speak Freely Around His Secret Service Agents Because They’re White Southerners

“Wary of his own Secret Service agents, the president no longer spoke freely in their presence,” according to Whipple, who also noted that Biden worries the agents are loyal to former President Trump.

The book also claims that Biden is regularly triggered into fury by reminders around the White House of Trump’s previous presence.

The Daily Mail reports that Biden was livid when he discovered a big screen TV and a $50,000 state of the art golf simulator that Trump personally paid to have installed.

“‘What a f**king a**hole’ Biden said, showing the contraption to a guest,” the book claims.
